I. Revisions

1. Refer to Section 3 — Tender Submission Package Pricing Form, page 3-17 to 3-23 and replacewith Section 3 — Tender Submission Package Pricing Form attached marked June 30, 2017, thisincludes the following changes;

• Item 63 has been deleted.

• Items 47 and 66 have been revised. Quantities of Items 47 and 66 — GeneralExcavation have been revised.

2. Concrete Toe Wall

Items 64 and 76 — Construct concrete toe wall shall include all labour, material and equipmentfor construction of concrete toe wall. Only excavation and Granular A materials reLated to theconcrete toe wall shall be paid under separate items as discussed below.

Any excavation of earth materials below existing grade and behind the face of concrete toewall, up to the limits of specified granular backfill, and below the concrete toe wall up to thesubgrade shall be paid by Item 47 and 66 — General Excavation.

Items 47 and 66 shall exclude any excavation of earth materials in front of the face of concretetoe wall, and any excavation related to construction of the concrete sidewalk as specified in TS3.70; payment for such excavation has been included in the construction of the concretesidewalk items.

Supplying and placing of Granular A backfill material and base material of the concrete toewall shall be paid by Items 55 and 78 — Supply and place Granular A RAP.

for payment, the contractor shall submit actual measurements and actual quantities of Items 47,55, 64, 66, 76 and 78 to the Contract Administrator. Measurements shall include lengthmeasured longitudinally along the concrete toe wall, overall height (i.e. the sum of exposed andembedded heights) of the concrete toe wall, extents of Granular A backfill behind and GranularA base below the concrete toe wall. Measurements shall be taken for each toe wall sections of6-rn maximum length or less. Measurements shall be verified in the field with the City’sInspector prior to backfilling.

II. Questions and Answers

Qi:Can you please ask the Engineer to provide a line painting drawing for Midland that indicateswhere line item 83 “Obliterate obsolete existing pavement markings” are?

Al:Any obsolete existing pavement markings, including stop bar(s) and solid yellow line(s), atLatham Avenue, Ridgemoor Avenue and Romana Drive to the west of Midland Avenue will beobliterated.

New pavement markings shall be installed at Latham Avenue, Ridgemoor Avenue and RomanaDrive to the west of Midland Avenue. New pavement markings shall conform to OntarioTraffic Manual - Book 11: Markings and Delineation.

Q2:Please verify that the only place where line item 63 “Obliterate obsolete existing pavementmarkings” on Birchmount are, is in the intersection at L’Amoreaux Drive?

A2:Item 63 — Obliterate any obsolete pavement markings within project limits has been deleted.Refer to the June 30, 2017 Pricing Form.

Q3:The above call was issued and the only major item on part C and D is NEW sidewalk.The General Excavation under items 47 and 66 just happens to volumetrically equal the earthfill to be removed under the sidewalk.That being said, if the said significant amount of General Excavation as listed under the items47 and 66 are not to be used for removal of earth under the sidewalk, why is it in the scheduleof prices?

A3:Acknowledged. See revision 1 above.

Q4:There is no work proposed for Parts “C” and “D” other than NEW sidewalk.If the General Excavation does not cover the material to be removed under the sidewalk onboth sections “C” and “D”, where is the General Excavation for Parts “C” and “D” proposed tobe used?

Q5:As per addendum 3 sent yesterday, regarding the two excavation items under the sidewalksections 47 & 79: your answer states that the items are NOT for the earth excavation where thesidewalk will be placed.

If this is the case please explain where these large quantity items will be used when thesidewalk is being constructed adjacent the curb and there is no other work requiring that muchexcavation.
