  • BECOMING A CERTIFIED VIASAT TECHNICIAN

    THE APPS

    All the apps you will need to complete installations and service calls.

    THE COURSES

    Basic instructions about how to navigate Viasat Discover to complete courses and troubleshoot minor issues.

    THE ASSESSMENT

    Information about when and how to complete the assessment, which covers topics discussed in certification courses, as well as next steps.

    THE VALIDATION

    All of the certification requirements regarding completing installations and submitting acceptable photographs.

  • SEVERAL APPS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE AN INSTALLATION:

    • FS Tech Support o The FS Tech Support app is the required method of submitting review

    photos and Live QC audits of all work orders. You will learn more about FS Tech Support during training.

    o The app is available for both iOS and Android devices.

    • FSM Mobile o FSM is Viasat’s online communication system for technicians that allows you

    to manage, track, and complete your service calls and new installation work orders. You will learn more about FSM during training.

  • • MITe o The MITe app is a useful tool to point and peak and troubleshoot

    connections. You will learn more about the MITe app during training. o The app is available for both iOS and Android devices.

    • TechTools o The TechTools app will enable you to view your daily jobs, add Viasat360

    products and services, view training resources, check your Winner’s Circle points, and more. You will learn more about the app during training.

  • • Please use the most current version of your browser for security purposes.

    Viasat Discover Home Page: The Home page consists of four areas: • Start Here • My Profile • Courses You’re Working On • Courses You’ve Completed

    Start Here • Click on the tile to Enroll in a program or course. Follow the instructions on the

    page to enroll. When looking for additional courses after certification, look in Start Here! We’ll always place the new courses in this area.

    Courses You’re Working On • Shows courses that are In Progress.

  • • To continue the course, click on the course tile and select Resume. To start the course again click on the Start Learning Now button.

    Courses You’ve Completed • Shows all courses and programs you have completed

  • • You may review the course material by clicking on the tile and selecting the Start Learning Now button. o Note: this will NOT overwrite your original score on the course.

    Returning to the Home Page

  • To return to the Home Page select the Menu icon in the top left corner of Viasat Discover.

    Select Home from the menu.

  • The tools for Viasat Discover appear in the top right corner of the Viasat Discover screens. They are: • Virtual Coach • Notifications

    Virtual Coach

    • Virtual Coach will provide assistance within the current area of Viasat

    Discover where you activate it. • The red dot by the icon indicates that you have a new message from the

    Virtual Coach.

    Notifications

  • • Notifications will be located in this area. Notifications will include messages

    about new courses and programs coming available as well as other helpful information.

    • The red dot by the icon indicates that you have new notifications

    What If I Forget My Username or Password? If you forget your Username or Password, select the Forgot Your Password link.

  • You will be prompted to enter your username or email address, then select Send Message. You should receive an email with your Username and a link to reset the password within a few minutes. Please remember to check your Junk folder if you have not received the email.

    When Should I Complete It?

  • • Participants are encouraged to take the assessment within 48 hours after completing the last course

    • If you are unable to access the assessment, email: [email protected]

    After the Assessment – What’s Next? • By close of business, the next business day, Installer IDs will be activated • To retrieve:

    o Log into Viasat Discover o Refer to your MY Profile tile on the right side of your Home Page o Retrieve your now-activated Installer ID

    After completing the photo review process, the Installer ID Expiry in My Profile will reflect the date 6/30/2021.

  • After Training After training is finished you must complete and submit 2 installations capturing required quality control photos on site. • Installation review requirements are:

    o You must complete 2 installations o Take required photos on site o Send 2 FSM IDs to [email protected]
