There is not much work done in the feld o technical education and skills

development in Pakistan. I would really like to initiate/acilitate a

collaborative project between Government, G!s and "orporate sector

that could encoura#e and promote technical education in Pakistan. This

will be major step to have more unctionally skilled labour in job market.To create awareness re#ardin# the benefts o havin# a skill development

and this course at !$ord will empower me to do that.

Pakistan position in technical or skilled labour is airly weak. %e all know

that capacity buildin# and mobili&ation o human capital is the key to

development and improved economy. Pakistan's ()* population alls

between a#es +(- years, amon# which the unemployment rate is as

hi#h as )* uno0icial estimation1. 2nd less than -* people adopt

technical and vocational trainin#. %ith around +)) million people to

enter in the job market in ne$t decade, it is very important to develop,improve and increase the level o technical education in Pakistan.

Technical education provides solution to, Pakistan's hi#her e$ports,

#rowin# industry, low skilled labour and hi#her illiteracy, drop outs at

secondary level and unemployment, all at the same time.
