FOREWORD

This is the first printout of VIDED, a database featuring a large collectionof videos on educational topics from all over the world. It is part of the projectEducation for All, Making it Work, a major international undertaking by UNESCO tocollect, analyze and promote innovations in basic education.

Held at UNESCO’s Paris education sector documentation andinformation service, the database can be consulted and the videos screened upon request,It is a resource for UNESCO staff, as well as for visitors, who need easy access to visualdocumentation on a specific country or educational field. VIDED maybe a useful tool inpreparing field missions, meetings, background papers, briefings, workshops or other in-country, regional or global activities.

VIDED currently lists some 151 films. New videos are entered into thedatabase on an on-going basis. We are grateful for all suggestions for new films to beincluded in VIDED.
