Game Story

It seemed like a normal day for San Diego, California . That was until the world largest recorded tsunami hit California. Play as Pro Racer, Sparky McSpeedy and race for your life out of California before your left in the submerging state. On the players way through California, he will encounter other people escaping California, road blocks, and a tsunami that is engulfing the state. Come in at least third place in all thirty rounds in order to win the game.At the end of the game, Sparky makes his way out of California, leaving behind his racing career in California to pursue his career elsewhere.

Game FlowEvery level becomes increasingly

more difficult to complete and place top three in. The player will start to slow down as he completes more levels. That is because the tsunami starts to go faster than the player. Therefore, the player must pick up upgrade parts that increase speed. Since the player will go faster, that means that he has the possibility to hit objects withy more force. That is why you can also you upgrade parts for increasing your cars durability. Constantly upgrading will make winning each race a little easier.

Sparky McSpeedyYou will be playing as Sparky McSpeedy, a professional racer. At the age of six he started to learn how to fix cars from his dad who also happened to race for a living. One year later his father was killed in a car accident. Sparky never realized how much racing blood he had until he got behind the wheel of a car. Now living in San Diego, and ready for a day that he thought would be laid back, Sparky is faced with the ultimate race that will end in either his escape from California, or death.

GameplayRacing:

there are 30 races in total. 10 in the morning, 10 at noon, and ten more at night. Completing each race will earn you a victory. In each race, there are random assortment of obstacles to avoid. Hitting one of these will create a decrease to your speed for the rest of that race. Hit three obstacle during the race and your engulfed by the tsunami. There are also fifteen other people trying to escape California per race. Come in the top 3/16 people to progress to the next race. Upgrading:

Using the spare parts that you find along the road, you can upgrade the speed and durability(which works like health) of your vehicle. Upgrading will be a sort of mini-game in which an upgrade part gets closer to a center point, press the (A[XB1] or X[PS4]) button to place the spare part in the center point. The closer you get the spare part to the center, the more of a boost to speed or durability you get.

Game World

The game world is seen as a top town scrolling screen with a tsunami following close behind you. A mini map will be located on the top of the screen to let you know how far youve progressed through one race.The player is supposed to feel overwhelmed not only by the music playing, but also by the increasingly difficult race and the challenge of getting through each race.

Game Experience

Tsunami Racer is meant to be entertaining, frustrating, challenging, and thrilling. When the player first starts up the game game, they are welcomed to a title screen with a background that very accurately illustrate how the city of San Diego would look if a giant tsunami were looming over it. The music drastically increases a feeling of suspense and thrill to maximize player enjoyability.

Gameplay MechanicsMechanics:

Spills can aid the player if enemies run into them. Finding fuel on the road gives you slight speed boost for a limited time.Hazards:

Spills make you spin out and take control of the vehicle away from the player. Road blocks make your car slower for the rest of the race.Collectibles:

The only collectibles are spare parts that allow you to upgrade the speed and durability of your car, doing so also changes the appearance of your car.

Enemies

The enemies are the other fifteen people per race that are trying to escape California. These drivers have a way to try and take away some of your cars durability. When durability reaches zero, your dead. There are three types of drivers that will be on the road.-Reckless Drivers: Swerve back and forth and can cause a major damage to your cars durability.-Road Ragers: Throw objects at you car and can cause minimal damage to your cars durability.-Sunday Drivers: Drive slow(number of these characters decrease as you progress through each race) running into these drivers causes normal damage to your cars durability.

Cutscenes

At the end of every ten levels, a cutscene will appear to show the players progression through the day when trying to escape the tsunami. They will show the progressing time of day. The final cutscene shows the state dividing from the country Sparky jumps his car off of a fallen billboard to get past the California border and survives the now crashing tsunami wave.

Bonus Materials

There will be bonus material that allows you to see how long you can survive on unlimited road. You are only limited by your ability to survive in the game mode.For each level that you complete, you will earn a first second or third place trophy for coming in top three per race. If you come in first in every single race, you will get one giant shiny silver first place tsunami surviving champion trophy for your tremendous achievement.
