The program seeks to encourage healthy eating choices among Drew scholars through fun and creative learning activities such as interactive nutritional shopping, cooking, and test tasting nutritious and delicious foods. Many aspects of the program are modeled on the concepts of the “Let’s Move” program established by First Lady Michelle Obama. In addition to their Healthy Families initiative, WRF has donated gift cards for the PBIS auction and plans to donate door prizes for Drew’s community reading event, ”Shamrocking with Books.” We are very grateful for our partnership with WRF and look forward to more great work together.

Girls SummitAfter a long morning of MSA testing our scholars was given a well deserved “brain break.” In recognition of Women’s History Month, our female students participated in a Girls Summit. The purpose of the summit was to address issues important to teenage girls including appropriate use of the Internet and how to treat yourself and others. The summit served as an opportunity for open dialogue within a small group setting where these issues were highlighted and an action plan for positively addressing these issues was developed.
