GREETINGS EVERYONE: We thank God who is the same yesterday, today and forever. We are grateful that we can count Him every moment of every day!

March has been a somewhat busy month in Seje, as students were writing their exams. There are extra studies and preparation to be made before, during and after, as with any school. We are trusting that with the added help and great teaching, they receive, will enable them to perform well.

The long awaited rainy season has arrived with most of it falling in the early evening or overnight, which is most welcome, as it won’t interfere with traveling as much. The rains have been good in Seje, so people have been very busy

planting. On the farms at Gracious Academy, they have planted corn, beans (legumes) and tomatoes.

They have been rearing the tomato plants from seedlings with great success as you can see below. Everyone has been working hard, together! We even have a family that does much of the initial plowing with his team of cows, as his contribution to the school with his child attending. Although this is only a seasonal work, it is very labor intensive and valuable support as it reduces the manual labor required for those planting. A most welcome help!

Successful tomato seedling, growing strong.

After Phelix announced to the students about the need for plants for the living fence, students began bringing seeds and seedlings. Almost the entire fenced compound is finished, with a living fence, with just a small patch remaining! Phelix has been doing most of the live fence planting, himself, with any spare time he has.

Our living fence being planted along our fence line. One of the plants in our living fence.

Much of the living fence is from a flowering bush that will look quite beautiful once it is full grown!

The one unfortunate aspect of the great rainfall is that people are not needing to purchase any water, as they collect rain water for themselves at home. As a result little to no funds are being collected at the water stations for the maintenance of our water project during the big rainy season.

Also in Seje, people are excited and getting ready for Pastor Sylvester and Phoebe’s wedding, that will take place on April 26, 2014. So far we have raised a good amount but not enough yet to reach our goal. Yogo Vosh church has their heart set on buying the new family a set of couches and a chair. Phoebe is from the Yogo region and has been ministering as the Sunday school teacher there. So they really want to give them a good start!
