Donor Featurette: Supporting Merciful Medicine

On December 8, 2015, Pope Francis proclaimed a jubilee year of mercy, and in his proclamation Misericordia Vultus declared that "Mercy is the very foundation of the Church's life."

God's Mercy has been defined as "a radiation of His love which takes into consideration the weakness of his creatures."  As St. Paul writes to the Ephesians, "God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ."[2:4-5].

During his earthly ministry, Jesus led a life of mercy.death on the cross, in which he gave up his life for undeserving sinners.best understood as attitudes and acts of love and compassion that go beyond justice, beyond what our fellows owe us.  Christ not only modeled mercy for us, but outlined the acts of mercy by which we will be judged (See Matthew 25).

Many of Christ's acts of mercy recorded in the Gospels were acts of healing.and Tepeyac is to continue, now and in this locale, Our Lord's healing ministry.essentially merciful.  This is perhaps most clearly seen when Tepeyac treats the 30% of our patients who cannot pay.But even for those who can pay, everything Tepeyac does is still mercy.

The medical care is not merely a transaction satisfying the demands of justice, but a loving service in the footsteps of the Divine Physician.

Medicine is an undeserved gift of love originating from above, put first into Christ's hands and then put into ours to be made concrete.

We seek to be Christ's hands on earth for those who need healing and thereby to be pro-life servants.

By giving to Divine Mercy Care, I help fulfill this call to mercy.  You can too.
