1. Install Microsoft iSCSI Software Target on Windows storage server 2008.2. Open the iSCSI Software Target program, Right click on iSCSI Targets, click on Create iSCSI Target

3. Run through Create iSCSI Target wizard

4. Give a name and description for your iSCSI Target

5. At this stage, go to the proposed cluster node server and run iSCSI initiator

6. Click on discovery Tab – click on Discover Portal – Type the IP address of Storage server – click OK7. Make sure the firewall is turned OFF on both node and storage server. iSCSI initiator doesn’t communicate to

target properly if the firewall is ON

8. Repeat step 5-7 on the other node also.9. Go back to the storage server and continue with Create iSCSI Target wizard. Click on browse

10. Select one of the initiators, second one we will add later after creating the iSCSI Target.

11. Click next to continue

12. Click next and finish.13. Right click on the newly created iSCSI Target – click on properties

14. Select iSCSI initiators tab – click on Add – click on Browse

15. Select the second node from the list and click OK.

16. We will create the disk now I am going to show you quorum disk creation, you may repeat the same for Additional SAN disks later

17. From iSCSI Target console, Right click on Devices – click on Create Virtual Disk

18. Walk through create virtual disk wizard – click next

19. Specify full path for the virtual disk (make sure that you have enough space in the selected drive to cover virtual disk capacity)

20. Specify the capacity of the virtual disk in MB

21. Provide description for virtual disk, click next

22. Click on add and select the iSCSI target we created earlier. Click OK

23. Click finish to complete the wizard.

24. Now we are done with storage server iSCSI Target configuration. 25. Go to the proposed cluster node Open iSCSI initiator

26. Click on targets – select the iSCSI target we created just now – click on Connect27. The status will turn connected from inactive.

28. Select Volumes and Devices – click on Auto configure

29. Repeat the same on second node. 30. Open Disk management from server manager console 31. Right click on the new disk and bring online – right click and initialize and format – disk is ready to use.
