Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Report

Sustrans Staff 2017

February 2017

Introduction

Sustrans incorporates equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) into our core objectives, making every effort to eliminate discrimination, create equal opportunities and develop good working relationships between different people.

Our culture actively values difference and recognises that people from different backgrounds and experiences can bring valuable insights to the workplace and enhance the way we work.

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy outlines our commitments in more detail.

We will apply our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy consistently in its operations and will not discriminate on grounds of age, disability, gender, gender assignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race (including nationality, ethnic or national origin), religion or belief / lack of religion or belief, sexual orientation or contractual status (fixed term / full or part time). This policy applies to all of our staff, volunteers and representatives.

We aim to ensure that our staff are recruited, managed, trained and promoted on the basis of ability, the requirements of the job and the need to maintain an effective and efficient organisation.

Furthermore, we monitor the composition of our workforce and will introduce positive action if it appears that our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy is not fully effective.
