SCIENCE FAIR JUDGING will be on January 27th. Please make sure that all projects are completed and submitted to school by January 16, 2015 insha’Allaah. All boards should be done by this time.SCIENCE FAIR SHOW will be on January 28th. Come and look at the beautiful boards in the exhibition of the Science Fair Projects. The cost is $5 which will go towards the Quran classroom projects and Quran Competition Fund.WISH LIST I would like to thank my GENEROUS and KIND parents who have contributed to purchase all the items we needed for our classroom. Grammar & Writing Learning about Key Details in a story. Make use of question cards to help

guide questions about the topic – who, what, where, when, why, how, which, and how many.

IMPROVE vocabulary and writing skills. WORD OF THE WEEK: IMPECCABLE. Students will learn the definition of this word, use it in a sentence and write their own sentences using this word.

Mathematics Unknown whole number in addition and subtraction problems.

E.g; 7 + ?=10, ? – 2 =8 Partition circles and rectangles into two and

four equal shares, describe the shares using the words “halves” and “ quarters”, phrases like “half of” and “quarter of”

.Islamic Studies The life of Prophet Mohammed (P)

Quran Students will learn the tafseer of Suratul Ash

Sharh. Students will memorize Suratul Ash Sharh. Please practice this surah at home too.

If your child has a tablet/iPad, download QURAN FOR ALL and let your child listen and practice the surah at home.

Unit of Inquiry Conditions for plants to grow. Students will make ‘green houses’ and

observe as their seeds germinate. Describe the needs of plants. Define the term photosynthesis. Understand the pollination process and

show examples of bee pollination on specific plants

Understand the interdependence between insects, plants, and humans.

Understand that insects can have a negative impact on their ecosystem.
