BET YOU DIDN’T KNOW THAT ............ Greg Fournier, LJHS English teacher ’96-’09, is now an author, blogger and speaker. His latest book is a true crime novel, “Terror in Ypsilanti: John Norman Collins Un-masked.” The book tells the story of a serial killer who lived one block down the street from the house where Greg lived in Detroit, Michigan. Greg will be giving a book talk at the La Jolla Public Library from 2-3:00 PM on April 22. For more information about Greg and his work check out his website at: www.GregoryAFournier.com.

Alesse Bloom ’05 and her sister Melissa Bloom ’07 are the creators of the “Lane + Lanae” fine jewelry line launched in 2015. They credit their mother and grandmother for giving them fine jewelry pieces and an appreciation for precious stones when they were young. They use 14k gold and high quality diamonds in the all the jewelry they create. Their jewelry is available online and at Bower’s Jewelers in La Jolla where Alessa worked when she was a student at LJHS. Check out the their website at: LaneandLanae.com.

Susan Olney Crampton ’70 was identified by classmate, Scott Strayer, as the artist who created the drawing of the female Viking we published in our January 2017 newslet-ter. We were informed that Susan titled it “Valkerie.” We titled it “Veronica Valkerie” to match the name on the trophy awarded to LJHS female athletes for “Fitness” from 1970 to 1977.

.... CORRECTIONS/UPDATES .....Dean Elson ’37 was credited with flying three fighter pilot missions in WW II in our September 2016 issue. His wife informed us that he actually flew one hundred and eleven missions. Unfortunately the information she originally sent was misinterpreted.

SPECIAL THANKS to the 50th reunion committee of the classes of ’66 and ’67 who recently donated funds to the Foundation of LJHS for the school and to the Alumni Association for operating expenses.
