School Based 2nd Semester Exams Contact: L. Smith (850-833-3300 or

All students at FWBHS in every course will be required to take a second semester teacher-created exam at the conclusion of the second semester unless the enrolled course has a high-stakes exam associated with it (see these courses listed below). If a student receives 5 or less excuses absences and 0 unexcused absences in a class, that student may choose to take an early exam and be excused from school exam week. Because seniors already take their exams early, they will be exempt from this policy in the second semester.

2020 Galapagos Islands Trip Contact: T. Marez (850-833-3300 or [email protected])

I am excited to announce that I will lead a group of Fort Walton Beach High School students on a WorldStrides program to Galapagos Islands. On this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, students will explore one of the most bio-diverse areas of the world. They'll experience incomparable learning moments while gaining a new appreciation and love for science. This will be a trip that your child will be talking about for years to come! Your child will return home excited to tell you about:

Visiting Mitad de Mundo, and stand on the middle of the world! Seeing the Giant Tortoise and learn why Darwin found these amazing

land creatures so amazing Snorkeling at Concha Perla and coming face to face with playful sea

lions and the Galapagos Penguin Hiking the Sierra Negra Volcano and learning how to properly identify

volcanic rock

I have chosen to travel with WorldStrides because of their exceptional service, their 50 years of experience, their safety record, and their preventive measures that ensure learning occurs in a safe and fun environment. I will chaperone the program with other teachers as needed, and throughout the program our group will be guided by a WorldStrides-certified Course Leader 24 hours a day. Since this is not a school sponsored trip, we will not be attending as representatives or employees of the school. Please read the information below, check out the sample itinerary and visit www.worldstrides.com/signup for more details about WorldStrides and our group's trip. If you have any questions, you can contact me at (850)833-3300, or via [email protected]. Dr. Tavia Marez 850-833-3300 Ext 14275 [email protected]
