    Though fairly small in size with 1,388

    households, Amberley provides a high

    level of service to residents.

    ServicesFrom its founding in 1940, the Village hasemphasized public safety, and todays police/fireofficers continue this tradition, offering extra servicessuch as house checks while youre away, security/firesafety audits and educationalclasses in addition to lawenforcement. Leaf and brushpick-up and the most efficientsnow removal in the areaalso are especially valuedby residents.

    SchoolsAmberleys neighborhood elementaryschool is nearby Pleasant RidgeMontessori, part of Cincinnati PublicSchools. Housed in a new LEED-certified building,the school has emerged as a focal point for youngfamilies in the Village. Amberley students have severoptions for public high school, including Walnut Hillsthe highest-ranking public high school in the region.Varied choices are the norm in the Village, howevera sizable number of students also attend area privaschools, both religious and non-religious.

    Community LifeRecreationally, theres somethingfor everyone in Amberley, nomatter your age. The MayersonJCC, opened in 2008, servesas a major gathering spot for residents. In additionto a fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, indoorwaterpark, spa and caf, there are programs for

    all, from infant day care topreschool to speakers to filmsand performances to senioractivities and support services.

    Other amenities within theVillages 3.5 square milesare French Park, with trails,creeks, and picnic areas;Amberley Green, a former golf

    course offering tennis courts and walking paths; aswell as a walking track, ball fields and tennis courtson the Village Hall grounds.

    Amberley prides itself on diversity. The annual IceCream Social and other events are occasions toappreciate the mix of ages, races, nationalities andlifestyles in the Village, while the presence of severalsynagogues attests to the continued vibrancy of theVillages Jewish past.

    Environmental StewardshipPreserving and enhancing the Villages natural assetsis a high priority in Amberley. The efforts of theEnvironmental Stewardship Committee, foundedin 2003 and consisting ofresidents and Council members,have resulted in Tree CityUSA status for the Village, anannual Arbor Day celebration,installation of a rain gardenon Village grounds, as well aseducation materials and events.All are invited to participate inthis committee.

    Economic DevelopmentAmberley recognizes that a solideconomic base is essential topreserving its other strengths andactively seeks new businesses forcommercially zoned areas of theVillage. In particular, a 27-acre
