Reg MeurossSomerset-based singer/songwriter, Reg is an exceptional

teller of tales set to great melodies and delivered with a

spell-binding voice. His songs include ‘And Jesus Wept’, the

story of Private Harry Farr, a WW1 shell-shock victim shot

for cowardice. Other songs interweave historical

characters with eternal themes. Make sure you don’t miss

him at the 2012 Festival! With special guest Jess Vincent.

PonchartrainPonchartrain is in Louisiana, and this

band bring an infectious blend of

cajun & country to their energetic

performance. You might even get up

and dance!

World GovernmentThe World Government is a fresh take on what music is and how a band should operate.

Nothing is pre-conceived, written in advance, even verbally discussed or rehearsed. The idea is

to get a group of exciting players together, add an audience and see what happens. This is free

expression, not contrived or formulated. The aim is not merely to jam but to spontaneouly write

music together and thus create musical journeys which develop and evolve. No two gigs are

ever the same but there will usually be flavours of funk, jazz and music of the world.

Adam PurnellBegan playing the classical guitar at the age of eleven

under the tutorship of Andrew Britain. Last year he was

accepted on the Erasmus Exchange Programme to study

for three months at the Koninklijk Academy in Brussels

with the world-famous classical guitarist Antigoni Goni.

He will be performing again this year in the church on

Sunday evening.

Benji BartlettInspired by Hendrix, Bruce Lee, Wolverine, The Tick and

Steve Vai, Benji will be performing at the festival supper on

Sunday evening. Currently teaching guitar and a certified

guitar junkie, he writes songs, repairs and builds guitars

and is passionate about his music.

Bodies of waterEvocations of water, flooding and landscape

through music, poetry and images. Includes live

readings of poems from the T S Elliot prize

winning poetry collection The Water Table by

Philip Gross and Sleepwalk on the Severn by

Alice Oswald, and the sound artwork Body of

Brejeiro perform an infectious and uplifting mix

of mandolins (David Griffiths & Mike Pryor) and

guitar (Helen James) propelled by Latin percussion

(Andy Fuller). Their music combines driving rhythms

and haunting melodies capturing the essence of

Brazil. The music encapsulates the fusion of South

American Latin rhythms, North American jazz and

the evolution of the mandolin from Portugal.

Callum Martin & Matty MordakCallum and Matty are a young duo from Swindon, Wiltshire.

They perform a variety of r’n’b covers giving them a fresh

sound with great playing and vocals. They also write and

perform original material. They have a growing following on

YouTube and hope to be gigging a lot more

– after their exams!!!

The Curfew Crew/Elderly Brothers

The Curfew Crew regularly play at the Ring o'

Bells featuring electro-acoustic country blues.

Also recently performing at the ‘Right Royal

Knees Up’ in Priston, the Elderly Brothers will

ramp up the rock'n'roll volume for Priston's

famous Saturday Night Gig.

Foreign AffairsForeign Affairs are an acoustic indie folk duo, consisting

of two brothers from the South-West. Their catchy music

infuses the best of English folk, American Country and

modern Pop. Lawrence Purnell (Vocals, Ukulele, and

Mandolin) and Adam (Guitar, Harmonica) come to

Priston festival before a planned national tour in 2013.

Horizonto are Andrea Green (violin), Ed Green

(guitar), Tracy Walker (accordion), Tim Watson

(percussion), Seona Chapman (violin). They perform

an eclectic range of traditional folk and klezmer music

from Ireland, Scotland, France & the Balkans.

by hand-picked musicians who bring to life Kevin's

highly-honed songs and instrumentals. Swampy rythms, pure blues

and simple but haunting grooves are the trademark of Kevin's

style, appreciated the world over. Featuring material from his long

awaited follow-up to Tin Church, the Shackdusters really are

'world-class'. Slide guitar to die for, songs that just 'wont go

away'. The opening gig for 2012, cabaret style in the village hall,

promises to be a great night. Make sure you book tickets in

advance as this will be a sell-out.

Old Somerset Russet BandThe Old Somerset Russet village Band is a group of local instrumentalists who get together to

play mainly traditional music. Typically the group consists of a mixture of wind, string and free

reed players. Bring your instrument and have a go at playing some good old tunes danced to

by your great, great grandparents, arranged in four parts. Music provided, but bring your own

music stand if you have one. All welcome - some experience of sight reading will increase your

enjoyment!

Los YanquisBristol’s own rockin’, roadhouse, honky-tonk country blues

band. A heady mix of Americana, tex-mex, country blues

and tear-stained ballads, the Yanqs never fail to get the

dance floor jumpin’ and jivin’. Best washed down with a jug

of beer and a slug of JD, and don’t bring the car - you’ll

forget where you left it....

Phillip Henry & Hannah MartinFast becoming recognised as one of the finest slide guitarists

the UK has produced, Phillip Henry is also a virtuoso on the

harmonica. Regarded as, ‘one of the most extraordinary

musicians around’ (Steve Knightley - Show Of Hands), he

brings together folk melodies of the British Isles, blues, gospel

and Indian music in his moving and original compositions.

from Devon. Her songs weave folklore and legend with

beautiful melodies. We are delighted to have them back in

Priston again this year.
