OLDER ADULT MARKET
In partnership with the Schaumburg Barn senior program the Food Depository provides a Choice Market for seniors at the Barn.
The Market Days provide free nutritious food such as fresh produce and shelf stable items to older adults in the community. Market Days fall on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month and start at 1pm.
BIRTHDAY GREETINGS
February is… A time for hearts and Cupid’s
darts. Instead its flakes for
goodness sakes! With it nice
and cold, ages unfold. So
stay on the ball with
BEST WISHES TO ALL!
VALENTINES DAY PARTY
The Flamenco Expressivo Dance Ensemble’s performance truly made the Valentine’s Day celebration unforgettable! With their colorful dresses, expressive dancing, and sweet sing-a-long they had the participants in amazement. With lunch being catered from Riccardo’s Ristorante everyone enjoyed the delicious Italian Beef sandwiches and salad. Melt in your mouth chocolate cake and Bingo made a lasting impression on all that attended the day’s events.
FEBRUARY SPIRIT

This month seniors at the Barn were able to spread
love and friendship by wearing or bringing in items with hearts on them. Each day they participated they
received a raffle ticket for a chance to win a lovely
basket filled with goodies.
PAINTING FUNDRAISER
Schaumburg Barn seniors participated in a fun painting event that helped fundraise for the Meals on Wheels Foundation

With the guidance of a talented instructor everyone was able to walk away with a masterpiece.
The end result was a beautiful landscape painting that the participants were able to take home and enjoy.

TRIP TO BROOKDALE OF
HOFFMAN ESTATES
It was a pleasure to tour the Brookdale senior living community and to see all the services they offer to
our senior community.
Brookdale offered guests a delicious healthy lunch that
was enjoyed by all.
Lunch was concluded with a sweet brownie and coffee. After lunch our participants enjoyed a friendly game of Bingo with residents of Brookdale.
We are very grateful to Brookdale for a wonderful outing along with the Village of Schaumburg Transportation Department for providing the bus services.
