Virgin Islands Information About Off Limits Areas
Mr. Bill III White Bay, Jost Van Dyke 2014
P a g e | 2
Introduction
We are providing this guide to you as a courtesy to help you better understand some of the hazards in Virgin Islands as well as out of bounds areas that you are required to know and stay clear of while on a CYOA vessel. While we have tried to make this guide as informative as possible, it is not an exhaustive list of hazards throughout the Virgin Islands. The images throughout this guide are not to be used for navigational purposes. You are expected to have done your own research and route planning to ensure crew and vessel safety before arriving to the charter base. You will be asked to identify the hazards and out of bounds areas you will encounter on your planned route before being approved to leave the dock. While some of these out of bounds areas may seem overly conservative, they have been established by insurance underwriters and CYOA to ensure crew and vessel safety. Failure to comply can result in uninsured damage to the vessel, or injury to crewmembers.
We hope route planning is getting you excited for your trip; we’re thrilled that you chose CYOA Yacht Charters for your sailing adventure. See you soon!
