• Effective virtual face-to-face teaching by highly experienced and trained high school teachers.

• Lessons are interactive and will include five subjects - English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Social Studies, Sciences and Integrated skills.

• Engaging and fun to do. Flexible online experiences allow student-to-student interaction and collaboration – it is another opportunity to learn and practise English.

For parents

• The course takes into consideration the latest information for student wellbeing in a home learning environment.

• Students will be part of a balanced course that includes physical activities, relaxation breaks and rest time to maximise learning efficiency.

• Parents can look forward to fortnightly information sessions, newsletters and interpreters for non-English speaking parents.

• Course progress reports regularly advising the progress of their child.

• 20 hours virtual face-to-face per week.

• 5 hours of tutorial per week.

• Class size is reduced to 12 students from 18.

• Aside from the 5 subjects, Virtual HSP will also cover physical education, visual art, writing and non-computer based training.

Which online platforms are used?

Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office Suite (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) made available to all enrolled students.

This is free for students once enrolled into a

QLD school through their MIS account @eq.edu.au

Learning

• Student will receive weekly assignments including day-to-day instructions for activities and homework.

• Email notifications are automated as new items are added.

• Homework will be introduced and discussed at the end of the day.

• Minimum of five assignments a week (one per subject).

• Integration with a trusted third party provider – Education Perfect.

Assessments• Regular assessments will

be submitted by students (the same amount as normal).

• Assessment supervision and monitoring through Microsoft Teams.

• Individual student course progress will be monitored.

How will the student engage?

• Student experience is virtual face-to face

• Students can ‘raise their hand’ to ask questions or make comment

• Monitoring will happen every day by teachers and a roll call taken as a normal school procedure.

• Attendance requirements will be the same as the current program and an inability to attend classes could affect their future enrolment.
