VIRTUAL LABORATORYA structure laboratory in computer
VIRTUAL LAB VS REAL LABVirtual LAB aim is presenting condition in real labs test with approximation in Finite Element Method or Numerical Method
Real Lab always dealing with material which cause a lot of money, time and failure without prediction.
Virtual Lab disadvantage
For un usual Test sometime the result is not precision, but only a predictionFor Test never done eq. not in ASTM code, need a verification in real labs
How To in Virtual Labs
Several Software can be use for virtual labs. A finite element with high precision such as Ansys, Abacus and Adina or using a simple finite Element Software such as Sap2000 or Atena Or Else
Result from both Labs
Virtual Labs ResultStress Strain in Arrow Diagram, Contour or Heat Transfer. And a curve of them
Real Labs ResultPressure or Mass Weight
Strain LVDT StressWhich will show a Stress Strain Diagram
Virtual Test Result
A Contour of Stress Strain in ProfileSometime a animation of Stress StrainStress Strain Behavior in pattern .
Real Test ResultA result Of TestAnalyze them and take a conclusion
A Sample Test
We are Going to test a sample of cylinder as this in real labs
Our aim is taking a stress strain curve in sample.Sample 15 cm in diameters and 30 cm in heightfc’ = 20 Mpa or K225
Preparation in Sample
Checking a Pressure in Cylinder
So it Might Be aboutAP
=σ
Asumption
dia 15 cmA 176.625 cm2Teg 225Kg/cm2Pressure 39740.63Kg
39.74063 ton
Using a Simple FEMModel of Sample Looks Like This
Testing In Virtual Labs
Adding A Pressure After Analyze Stress Location can be check
Detail Result
Sample 2
We are Going to test this Beam below
Preparation in Sample
Using Atena, creating the sample
So the Sample look like this
