Visitation offers a daily, after-school program of professional and avocational training in classical ballet.

The courses are free to Visitation students; how- ever, a $580 accompanist fee will be assessed each student participating in one or more of the after-school Ballet Courses (billed $290 per semester).

INTRO TO BALLET Monday - After School - CLDM & CLD2M CLDM is for Lower School boys and girls wishing to begin, or to continue, ballet in the initial stages. This class meets Mondays after School from 3:00 - 4:20. CLD2M focuses on children who are ready to explore the next level, but who are not yet eligible for Middle or Upper School (MS/US) Courses. CLD2M students continue their Monday lessons until 4:40.

INTRO TO BALLET - LEVELS I & II Tuesday - After School - ASBT This is for Middle and Upper School students (Lower School with permission of Mr. Andaházy) who wish to begin ballet or to continue their knowledge of the basics of ballet. Class meets Tuesdays from 3:15 - 5:00.

Students in this class will be training in a 6th or 7th hour Ballet lesson during school as well. This class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 - 5:00. Pointe by Instructor’s approval.

Lower School children should ideally have attained 8 years of age when beginning ballet training. With some communication via e-mail with Mr. Andaházy, in some cases, it may be possible to begin as early as 7 years. Due to the process of the ossification of the bones (whereby the bones are still partly cartilage), any kind of technical training (not just ballet) earlier than the age of 7 is ill advised.

He keeps students on their toes. When it comes to Ballet Master-in-Residence, Marius Andaházy has high expectations of his students.

Andaházy learned from the best. His parents were members of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and after training for 9 years at the Andaházy School of Classical Ballet, Marius received scholarships in NYC at the School of American Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre School.

He was the first American to be trained, on tours, with Russia's Bolshoi and Kirov Ballets. As talented a teacher as he is a performer, Andaházy might be demanding but he is not intimidating. His rich history and exposure to the best ballet companies in the world, coupled with a phenomenal teaching method, gives students a world class experience in dance.
