To our shareholders, business partners, and colleagues.

It is with great pleasure to report that our company was able to achieve what it sought out to undertake in 2017 – and even more. We were able to achieve an increase in our total revenue by 8.9% over 2016, and we recorded the highest total premiums earned in the industry. With a strong economic outlook in the Philippines and in the global economy, we look forward to sustain our growth in 2018. There were several factors in the economy that favored us this year:

partners by management capabilities using technology. We have kept close contact with our customers to anticipate needs for insurance and risk cover to support their growth. In engaging our customers more, we are able to enhance our products based on their requirements brought about by changes in technology and globalization to add more value and to save on cost. The following are the new products that we have in place:• Cyber Insurance - aims to provide protection to information technology infrastructures and activities of businesses and individual users from cyber-related and other internet-based breaches.• Products Liability Insurance - with globalization, business activities are no longer limited to local setting. Local manufacturers are exporting their products abroad and will normally be required to have a Products Liability cover. • Contaminated Products Insurance - covers the costs and expenses associated with a recall for the Food and Beverage Industry.• Environmental Impairment Liability - covers damages brought about by pollution. As awareness on environmental issues continues to rise, it is foreseen that certain industries may be required to have this cover in the future.• Travel Insurance – the enhancement of this type of insurance is in response to the changing trends and demands of the traveler. We continued to develop and expand our presence in our current portfolio of customers with whom we maintain strong partnership and professional relationship. We are proud to serve and partner with the top 1000 companies in the country. We have moved towards the use of technology and the power of the internet to make our company more accessible. We invested in cyber risk assessment, undertook technology improvements, developed and launched a customer contact center to boost retail sales, as well as implemented an e-commerce platform to interface efficiently and effectively with our clients, agents, and brokers, allowing us to have more visibility on-line as well as through various distribution platforms and partnerships. Proud as we are of these initiatives, we continue to change and innovate the way we interact with our customers through a business process that is customer-friendly, fast, secure, and efficient. We have embarked on strategies which makes efficient use of our resources to contribute directly to our business mission and vision as we continue to develop new products and use state-of-the-art technology to support our commitment of keeping our customers’ needs at the forefront of our business. The Philippine economy is expected to remain strong in 2018 with a GDP projected at an average of 6.9% by the end of the year. This trend is in sync with our business goals and we will ride with the momentum of growth in the areas of property, banks, infrastructure, and power utilities. We anticipate that 2018 will be another successful year for our company. With a robust Philippine economy, we should take on the responsibility of leading the industry through the attainment of our 10% growth target this year. To accomplish this, we have laid out a road map to improve how we do business. Only then will we be able to bring our partnership with our customers to a higher level. We also believe that behind a strong and successful business is its people who are steadfast in upholding the company’s vision and mission. We therefore continue to build and maintain a strong and well-equipped management team that imbibes the unique culture of our company. We nurture a team that is passionate and is open to communication, all of which result to fast, resilient, and efficient management and customer management. At this point I wish to remember great leaders of our company: first and foremost, my father Robert Coyiuto, Sr., whose leadership and inspiration remain our beacon up to the present. Last year, our President, Mr. Philip Rico, who served our company from the start, passed away. His legacy of hard work, integrity, and professionalism will always be remembered. On behalf of the Board of Directors, officers, and management team of our company, I thank you for your trust and support as we optimistically continue to expand our business to new heights this year.

ROBERT COYIUTO, JR.Chairman

ANNUAL REPORT 2017 ANNUAL REPORT 2017 ANNUAL REPORT 2017ANNUAL REPORT 2017

Greetings, dear clients and shareholders.

The year 2017 has been a rewarding year for Prudential Guarantee Assurance, Inc. (PGAI). The economy continued to be robust as the country enjoyed a relatively peaceful year considering the good absence of major catastrophes hitting the country. As the economy continued to flourish, Prudential Guarantee also accomplished growth. From Php7.8 billion revenues in 2016, to Php8.5 billion in premiums, marking an 8.9% growth. Despite the entry of established foreign insurance groups, Prudential Guarantee faced this challenge with agility and the solid foundation of its reliable products, services, and performance. Through the years, PGAI has earned the distinction of being a strong property insurance group, providing one of the best premiums and coverages in the business. Long-time partners will also attest to the trust fostered through the years by the personalized experience delivered by the team, the company’s officers, and the Chairman himself. Our strength is our ability to understand the current business climate and develop innovative products that respond to the changing needs of our clients. Besides our most trusted products in the aviation, marine industries, engineering, bonds, our art insurance product is also getting upbeat recognition as more Filipinos are into art collection. This year, PGAI embarked on its digital transformation as it recognized the need to ride on the tide of technology. While we maintain our commitment to our loyal producers who have been doing business with us through the traditional way, we are also acknowledging these new business platforms.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

CELESTINO L. ANGPresident and Chief Executive Officer

Our evolving digital transformation entails developing a portal for our travel insurance products to make way for easy access to our clients and partners. PGAI’s travel insurance has also joined online platforms to generate and expand consumer interest. PGAI’s mobile app for 24 / 7 Roadside Assistance is enjoying excellent rating due to its extensive network of service and repair providers. In the pipeline, too, is an upgraded portal for PGAI with reinforced digital security features. The year 2017 is a year for several milestones. The company now boasts of 38 branches across the Philippines, opening three more offices particularly in the Mindanao area. These new units are proof that we are the biggest non-life insurance network as we continue to establish business in areas with emergent markets. Prudential Guarantee built its second home along EDSA. Besides providing more space for our growing team, the modern ten-storey structure also houses the Rosa Aragon Hall, a well-designed theater named in honor of the Coyiuto family’s matriarch. In 2017, we established our own in-house call center as part of the company’s customer service program. To date, our 60-man team is initially focusing on three campaigns. In the next few years, we are looking forward to creating more innovative products brought about by emerging industries, the digital era, and climate change. We continuously make our best effort to enhance satisfactory customer experience both for our long-time clients and as we open our doors to the next-generation market as well. As in past years, we extend our appreciation to our esteemed partners – the prime movers of the Philippine economy. We take pride in the fact that we have witnessed and taken part in the remarkable growth these industry giants have gained through decades. To be on top of our game, Prudential Guarantee will continue to provide and innovate customer and environment-friendly services committed to delivering a positive impact on our clients and shareholders. Mark 2018 as a busier and more dynamic year for Prudential Guarantee as we go full force with our digitization and in upgrading our customer experience. We look forward to reaching new heights in the achievement of our business goals as we go full force as a team. Thank you for your continuing support.
