Nikon, Inc. Nikon Low Vision Aids #78168

Main lens provides 2x magnification at distance from two meters to infinity.

Near vision is accomplished with reading caps in powers from 3x to 8x.

Astigmatic correction available in -10 0 to -4.0 D. Individual lenses available for near vision only in powers

of 2x to 4x. Set includes compartmental carrying case with all

accessories. Price $1,370 for complete set, all components available

Telesensory Systems, Inc. Apollo Electronic Visual Aids

These low vision aids serve much like teleprompters. A camera focuses on a printed page, a distant blackboard, or a computer screen and transmits an enlarged image to a closed-circuit television screen. Using hand and foot controls in some cases, the operator scans the material and adjusts the screen at will-magnifying it further, zooming in on one area, or switching the image polarity to produce a black-onwhite or white-on-black view.

Several models of TSI CCTVs are available, from which users can choose configurations that best address their specific needs. A schoolchild can carry one model to class, a computer programmer may use one specially geared for a CRT screen, an armchair reader may be happy with a compact device.

The Apollo models include: Imager Model 100-A 19-inch monitor with separate

camera and viewing table that can be used for a variety of reading purposes, including typewriting.

Imager Model 200-A compact unit in which the camera, viewing table and 19-inch monitor are combined in one unit.

Dual Imagell-A configuration of the above two models that allows the operator to read images from two separate cameras onto a 19-inch split screen, such as to read material for typing or computing and see the text as it is typed or printed out. The CRT Readout System is an accessory, which allows hand or foot control of the camera when scanning a CRT screen. The split screen on the television monitor shows both the CRT image and the material the operator is following, such as in a word processing setup.

PortaReader II-A lightweight device with a 12-inch monitor that the operator may carry about. Especially suitable for students, it is also applicable

for a variety of work and home reading and writing uses.

Innisfree Electronics CRT Image Synthesizer

Electronic spatio-temporal image stimulus generator for visual testing and research on visual mechanisms. Generates a wide variety of spatio-temporal visual patterns on a CRT, including sinewave/squarewave gratings with control over spatial frequency, orientation (360°), contrast, counterphase frequency, drift frequency, phase, size, and position of localized grating patches. Electronic image windows with controllable circular or rectilinear dimensions and locations permit automated and sophisticated contrast sensitivity measurements across the visual field.

Other features include: simulation of artificial scotoma; eyetracker interface; generation of oriented dynamic lines, edges, and bars; and dynamically moving and spinning images for oculomotor and vestibular testing. Dual independent digital spatio-temporal pattern generators each create 100 image frames per second, superimposed or partitioned on the CRT screen. Triggers exist for evoked potential averagers and other synchronization devices. System may be placed under full control of an external computer.
