CIS/CBPS PROGRESS REPORT EVENING On Tuesday, October 22 at 7 PM, CIS and CBPS will be holding a parent/guardian meeting at Canton Intermediate

School to review our Progress Reports. Revisions have been made to the progress reports in an effort to try to align

the core beliefs and principles of how we report student performance to K-6 parents and guardians. We have

established familiar language that captures students’ work habits and personal/social development along with a

common reporting system to communicate students’ academic performance. We are excited to share these

reformatted documents and modifications that have been made.

CIS PUMPKIN MANIA On Wednesday, October 23, CIS’s fourth graders will participate in PUMPKIN MANIA!! Each student will receive a 6” pumpkin to use in the creation of a character from either literature or history.

Students will be responsible to bring in decorations and props for their pumpkin creation. If they wish to add a body, we recommend a coffee can or a 2 liter soda bottle with the top cut off. Suitable supplies include scraps of fabric, yarn, fake eyelashes, and anything else that fits into the theme. This special event will be discussed with the students in art to help prepare for the big event. There will be basic supplies the students can use (i.e. paint, paper, yarn, limited fabric, buttons, etc.) Classes will have 80 minutes to create their piece. Any elaborate bodies or backgrounds (both optional) should be prepared at home and brought in prior to the event! From Abe Lincoln and Harry Potter, to the Statue of Liberty and Mona Lisa, the possibilities are endless! We look forward to an exciting, creative day!!

C.I.S. Pumpkin Mania Volunteers Needed

We are looking for parents to help with set-up/clean-up, assisting students with their creations, and helping to organize the final display. Please email Deb Costello at: [email protected] if you can volunteer!
