Dear Parents and Carers,

Wow what a chilly week we have had. The Athletics Carnival was very successful today thanks to the help of all staff and our P&C. Unfortunately we have no control over the weather. The children did extremely well considering the windy weather. Running the 200m was like running into a gale force wind.

Pyjama Day Our pyjama day was a great success and came on a very cold day. I know I was happy to have my dressing gown and ugg boots on for the day. We raised over $200 for the P&C. Well done everyone.

Long Weekend Please be aware that next Monday 10th June is the Queen’s Birthday long weekend and there will be no school on that day. School will resume on Tuesday 11th June. Enjoy the long weekend.

Enrolments for Kindergarten 2020 We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten students who will commence school in 2020. Please drop into the office and have a chat to the helpful ladies who will give you a form to fill in.

Miss Green Yesterday was Miss Green’s last day before starting maternity leave. We wish her and Nathan all the best with the upcoming birth of their child. Miss Prescott we be the relieving teacher until the end of the year on 5/6R.

Uniforms The school has received new supplies of uniforms. Come and see Jan or Gail and they will help you with sizing. We are still waiting on some smaller sizes of the track pants to arrive.

Hand Foot and Mouth Last week we sent home a note regarding Hand, Foot and Mouth, which is very prevalent around schools and preschools at the moment. Once the children have the blisters they must stay at home until they have crusted over. An information sheet on infectious diseases has been sent home with all students today.

Head Lice Parents are reminded to check your child/rens hair for head lice and treat them overnight to help avoid the spread. Head lice are no longer a justified reason to keep children home. The school has FREE head lice treatment available for parents at the front office.

Children work closely together at school and infections are spread easily. Keep reminding them of the importance of hygiene and hand washing.

in the Barrier soccer team.

Well done boys!

K-6L students are pictured with their amazing Alpaca masks they made for Alpacas with Maracas Simultaneous Story Time! Very creative!

Important Message to Parents Winter is most definitely here and there have been a number of students coming to school without warm clothing. Please ensure your children are dressed appropriately for the weather or make sure

they have warm clothing packed in their school bag. If you need assistance with uniforms, please do not hesitate to contact the school on 8088 2181 or call to the front office.

3-6 is due as soon as possible.

P&C Pyjama Day Fundraiser

Thank you to everyone who supported the Pyjama Day fundraiser. A total of $216.20 was raised!

P&C Disco Cancelled

The P&C disco which was to be held next week has been cancelled due to not enough helpers and other

external events coinciding on the same day.

Alma Athletics Carnval

The Alma Athletics Carnival was held at Picton Oval yesterday. The new shade shelters and flags had

arrived just in time for the carnival and looked great! The freezing cold weather didn’t deter the children

from giving their all in their events. Thank you to our wonderful P&C and all parents who assisted in the

canteen and with the barbecue lunch, which was enjoyed by many students, staff and parents!
