VISIT TO A BUSINESSMAN OF OUR SURROUNDING

Third and fourth of primary students have spoken about business. They have decided to visit a businessman of their neighborhood. It is a well known shop for them because they and their families buy their staff for school, food, sweets, newspapers, etc. Teachers thought to visit that to know how that establishment works.

Mr. Fortu showed children the variety of products he sells. He said that family business is quite hard since they have to work a lot of hours.

He showed examples of school material: where they are sold, how they are distributed, the initial prices, and the prices in his shop… in order to understand how the business works.

Mr. Fortu also said that in a business he doesn´t always earn money. There are some products that are not sold, that they are spoilt etc. and they don´t allow to ear money.

He showed an accounting book where he had the prices of the product when he buys them, the taxes he has to apply and the final Price of the product. He explained how he earned money in his shop. Many of our student understood how a familiar business work. Some of them told us they would like to have a shop in the future!
