Visiting Perth Zoo
When I arrive at the Perth Zoo, I will see the entrance. I line up at the
entrance to buy a ticket, or show the person at the front my ticket to let
me in.
Sometimes there is a line up to get into the zoo, this is okay because it
won’t take very long for it to be my turn to walk in.
There are lots of staff who work at the zoo. The staff wear green shirts and
can help me if I need it. The staff can also answer questions about the
animals.
When I walk in, I can ask the zoo staff for a map of the zoo so I know
where to find all of the animals.
The map also shows where the toilets are.
At the zoo there are lots of animals.
Some animals are big. The big animals walk around behind fences.
Some animals are small. The small animals are kept in their special
homes. I will know I’m safe from the animals if I stand behind their fence
or glass wall.
Sometimes the zoo keepers bring the animals out of their cage to show
people. I can ask the zoo keeper if I can touch the animals.
Some animals don’t like to be touched, so I can try to remember to ask
the zoo keeper before touching them.
When I go to the zoo, I can walk around and see all of the animals.
The zoo is very big so it’s important to try and stay with the people who
brought me to the zoo.
Sometimes the zoo can be busy or loud, but there are quiet places I can
go. I can ask the zoo staff where the closest quiet area is.
When I’m at the zoo I might want to eat. I can bring some food from
home. There is also a cafe to buy food.
There is also a shop at the zoo. I can go inside for a look. I might also buy
something, but I don’t have to.
When it’s time to leave, I’ll try to remember to take all of my things home
with me. Everyone at the Perth Zoo hopes I enjoy my day at the zoo!
