R´ÉSEAU DE CANCEROLOGIE ROSSY | GUIDE D’ IDENTITÉ VISUELLES

The Rossy Cancer Network is a major initiative undertaken by the McGill University teaching hospitals. By joining forc-es, McGill University, the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) and St. Mary’s Hospital Center (SMHC) aim to improve the quality of care and patient satisfaction, increase survival rates and reduce the burden of cancer.

The Rossy Cancer Network is built around a common vision of putting the person afflicted by cancer at the centre of everything we do. As such, the visual identity reflects that guiding principle. At the heart of the logo shines a diamond shape created and protected by the intersection of four circles, representing each institution. Furthermore, four new colours result from this association: a symbol of the positive outcomes and further development of the Network.

The new logo is the reflection of our joined efforts and will only be efficient if applied diligently by every person in-volved in the process. We invite you to read on and apply the principles set forth and by doing so, participate in making the Rossy Cancer Network a communication success.

GREYSCALE VERSIONSAn official greyscale version is available to accommodate all member institutions’ needs and graphic guidelines, when a full colour version is too costly to print. CHOOSING IMAGERY

Committed to outcomesThe Rossy Cancer Network is committed to improving cancer outcomes in Québec. The imagery we choose for our communications reflect a positive outlook on living with cancer. Images of an individual surrounded by caregivers in a natural light setting, capturing the dignity of a smile, our focus is on the person beyond the patient.

Owning our imagesTo make our images more distinctive, we use two different treatments. One, we desaturate the caregivers and profes-sionals and leave only the person in full-spectrum colour. Our second technique is to overlay one of our colours onto the image. The result is an expression of our undivided at-tention and care.

We are extremely enthusiastic about this collaboration and the positive impact it will have on cancer care for our patients, as well as on our teaching and research missions.

Message from the Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr. Réjean Hébert, at the launch of the Rossy Cancer Network, May 15, 2013.

"I applaud the initiative of the McGill University Health Centre, the Jewish General Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital Center and McGill University.

The MSS favours the network approach to fighting cancer in Quebec. The opening of the Rossy Cancer Network contributes to the creation of a network that complements Quebec’s large cancer network. This initiative demonstrates the exemplary proactivity of many of our allies in the battle against this disease.

I would like to remind you that it is essential for all stakeholders to embrace the network

together."

Excerpts from a message from the director of the Direction québécoise de cancérologie du MSSS, Dr. Jean Latreille, at the launch of the Rossy Cancer Network, May 15, 2013

"By enabling the creation of the Rossy Cancer Network, the Foundation has helped make McGill one of the first institutions to adopt the directions recently announced by Health Minister Réjean Hébert.

I am pleased to see how enthusiastically you have taken on the challenge of creating the network. Already your network is a model of cooperation, dialogue and coordination, aimed at delivering the best cancer care. The RCN is already contributing to consolidating the cancer network in Quebec.

Long live the Rossy Cancer Network!”
