The Internal Revenue Services’Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA)offers free tax filing services.

Certified volunteers prepare basic tax returns for taxpayers with incomes less than $48,500 and a variety of special needs individuals and families.

There are no fees for tax preparation or electronic filing (e-filing) at VITA sites.
The VITA program prepares only simple tax returns
We will prepare returns with the following:- Child and Dependent Care Credits- Education Credits- Earned Income Credits (EIC)- Wages including unemployment and
social security
We will not prepare returns with the following:
- Business, Farm, Rental, Partnership Income or capital gains/losses

Refund and/or payment options when using IRS e-file:
- If you are eligible for a refund, you have the option of having your refund directly deposited into a checking or savings account (10-14 days) or receiving a paper check (21 days).
Information you need to bring for tax preparation
- Bring all 2010 W-2s and forms that may be associated with federal income taxes received by you or members of your household.
- You must bring a photo I.D. for you and the social security cards for everyone associated with your return.
- Bring a copy of your tax return from last year (2009) if available.
- If you wish to have your refund directly deposited into your bank account, you need to provide a checking or a savings account number.
- If you are filing a joint return both you and your spouse need to be present to sign the return.
