Transportation in Barcelona
Transportation from the airport to the convention center has been arranged for Sunday and
Monday with return transfers on Thursday.
From airport to Fira Barcelona Gran Via:
• Sunday (every 30 minutes): 15:30 – 19:30
• Monday (every 30 minutes): 09:00 – 19:00
From Fira Barcelona Gran Via to airport:
• Thursday (continuous service): 12:00 – 18:00
*shuttle hours of operation are subject to change
Shuttle Pick-up and Drop-off Locations
• Airport: T1 and T2 (look for staff with placards)
• Fira Barcelona Gran Via: Right hand side of Hall 6 entrance
There is now a metro stop ("Fira") close to the North Entrance of the convention center so there is
no need for a shuttle from the metro stop.
10-ride metro cards can be picked up at the information booth in Hall 6.0

Before You Arrive
Your Role as a Speaker
• Pick-up badge at Registration - Fira Gran Via, Hall 6.0
• Check in at Speaker Services (at least 24 hours before session) Fira Gran Via, Hall 8.0, Room 43
• Reconfirm that your final version of session has been submitted
• Make any presentation edits with creative services support team
• Verify any video or demo integration
• Let us know if you do not want your session recording posted. Recordings/replays (with slides) will be posted in Schedule Builder and Mobile App.
• Handouts of any kind (including food and drinks) are NOT allowed in your sessions.
– All session room staff are aware of this policy and will notify the content team if there are any infractions.

When You Arrive
Your Role as a Speaker
• Conference attire is business casual
• Arrive at session room at least 15 minutes prior to start
• Connect with production staff (A/V tech) to get mic’d up
– There is a dedicated A/V in each room plus a room manager to support the presenter – should any assistance be required
• Use the presentation loaded onto the in-room laptop
– Confirm the correct presentation is on the in-room laptop
• If doing a demonstration, confirm all your connections are properly working
• Questions? There will be some event staff checking in on each room

Before Your Present
As a Speaker
• Ask people for feedback and to complete the session survey in the mobile app
• Return mic to production staff
• Return slide clicker to where you found it (at podium or production staff)
• For one-on-one questions after your session, lead people out of the room. There’s likely a session following yours.
• Please ensure you pick up personal belongings
• Survey results available in the SRC

• Dedicated/roving A/V tech: Get you mic'd up and handle pre-arranged demos
• Podium with final PPT loaded on presentation laptop
• Projector(s) and screens (16:9 aspect ratio/1920x1080 resolution)
• Audio output to speakers
• Wireless clicker/slide advancer
• Wireless lapel lavalier microphones for each speaker
• Dedicated Q&A mics in the audience
• Walk-in music / Slide loop
• For sessions with demonstrations
– Hardline Internet connection
– Switcher with demo cubes, HDMI and VGA (Used to connect your demo laptop to the projector/screens)

NOTE: If you have demo or video in your presentation, please arrive 25-30 min. prior to the
start of your session to connect demo laptop and test demo, test videos, and get mic’d up. If

• Utilizing the polling tool? If your questions were submitted you have an option to use the mobile polling feature of the VMworld 2017 mobile app.

Changes and Revisions to Already Submitted Presentations
• All submitted sessions have gone through final formatting and will be uploaded to your session room presentation lap-top.
– Only small, critical changes will be allowed and must be brought to the Speaker Services Room at least 24 hours prior to your session. (If travel schedule does not permit a 24 hour check-in, please check in ASAP).
– No net new slide decks, please
• Any last minute changes on site coordinated with speaker services
