If you missed 4 or fewer vocabulary questions, please write “I missed 4 or fewer questions on the test” on your notebook paper and turn it in. When finished, you may continue working on reading/annotating/vocabulary/questions for Chapters 6-7. For each word on the list below, use a dictionary to write the following: 1. the word and underline it. 2. the part of speech (noun, adjective, adverb, etc.) 3. the word etymology (language of origin, word from that language where it came from) 4. other forms of the word (with different suffixes, without a suffix if it already has one) 5. the sentence from the novel containing the word, in quotations, with citation 6. a brief definition of the word as it is used in the novel , in your own words Your definition should NOT : Contain words that are another form of the word you are defining (Ex. When defining “perserverence,” don’t write “to perservere”) Contain any words you do not understand or cannot pronounce!!!
