Trinity Lutheran Church

While going through our files after the renovation

we came across a wonderful spiral notebook called

the Trinity Guild Cookbook.

Every now and then I will share some of the recipes

in our Newsletter – maybe someone will be inspired

to replicate and bring to coffee hour one Sunday!

March has been such a fun month for us at TLS! The first week of March we

celebrated Read Across America Week with 5 fun themed days! We got to wear silly hats, dress up like our favorite book character and the fun didn’t stop there!

Week 2 is Lutheran Schools Week and we are so happy to show how much we

love TLS! We came to school dressed up like our favorite superhero, wore our

fanciest clothes, and on Friday we wore the Trinity Lutheran School colors of blue

and white!

We are looking forward to green bagels on St. Patrick’s Day and are eagerly

anticipating the return of Spring in April! See you then!

Easter Memorial Flowers:

On Easter, we celebrate that the

Father raised His Son, Our Lord,

Jesus Christ, from the dead, and

believe that all who have been

baptized into Christ live forever in

Him. In praise of Christ's

Resurrection, we memorialize those

who have died in the faith with

Easter flowers in the Sanctuary.

Easter plants are $15.00 each. Orders

are due by Sunday, April 5th. Please

contact Fran to order your flowers.

This year through Easter we will be

collecting the following items for

Pastor Braun-Storck to bring to The

Seafarer’s Church Institute. We will

collect lip balm, toiletries, hats,

popcorn, books or activities like

Sudoku, word searches, playing

cards, tissues, microwave popcorn,

gum and hard candy.

Call Committee Update After Pastor Zarnke left, we prepared the Ministry Site Pro-file. The form took the Committee several months to com-plete. We met with Bishop Tracie Bartholomew on July 29, 2019. From that meeting, we made several minor changes, then the Synod started looking for candidates for us. We are given the name one candidate at a time. With the Call process, the committee receives a Rostered Ministry Profile for the potential candidate. After reviewing the candidate’s profile, the committee decides if we would like to interview them. After we interview the candidate, we decide if we would like to continue the process, unless they decide to stop the pro-cess. Once we find a candidate that we feel is acceptable, we will let the congregation know. Then the candidate will come for the congregation to meet and decide if we should call them to be our minister. As of this date, we have interviewed 2 candidates. After meeting with the first candidate, we decided that person was not the minister for Trinity. The second candidate was inter-viewed. The second candidate stopped the interview process. We will be interviewing a third candidate shortly. Respectfully submitted, Nancy Markowski
