At any point you may tap “pause” to pausethe recording, and then resume. When you’refinished, tap STOP.

For best results, you should record sound in an isolated area with little noise aroundyou. Watch out for air vents, computer fans, or other noises. Place the sound sourceclose to the iPad - but you do not need to talk into it like you would a telephone.

Once complete, you have a variety ofoptions. Tap the camera icon to take apicture to visually identify this soundfile. For example - if a student is recordinga presentation, take a photo of the studentat this point Tap the file name to re-name it to somethingfriendlier if you wish. You can share the audio file using thegiant list of options on the right. Forexample, you could send the sound filevia email to yourself. Or, upload it to yourGoogle Drive.

Note the sound is saved as an “m4a” file type. While this will likely play on many devices, you may perfer to have your sound saved as a standard “mp3” file - which tends to be universally compatible. Scroll through the list of sharing options and you’ll see “Convert to MP3” as an option. Once converted to MP3, the app saves a new sound file. Tap “Back” at the top left to go back to the list of all sound files. Find your MP3 file and tap it. You’ll be presented with the same sharing options.
