The UnifiedCommunications Agent™ (UCA) provides any-to-any multi-path switching (simultaneousSIP, H.323, ISDN, and POTS calls with routingand conversion between TDM/PSTN andIP/Ethernet networks—plus T.38 and SuperG3FAX). VoIP-over-VPN with voice encryptionprovides secure voice and data via IPsec withAES/DES strong encryption and automatedkeying via Internet Key Exchange (IKE). Inaddition, advanced call-router functionalityincludes least-cost call routing with flexibledialed-number plan support.

The SmartNode survivability suite combinesPSTN fallback, SIP Registrar and IP-link

redundancy to ensure business continuityin case the IP network fails. Patton’sDownStreamQoS™ delivers the advantage ofclear, uninterrupted voice-and-data communi-cation. In addition, SmartNode delivers asmooth transition to VoIP with strong numberportability support accepting incoming callsfrom the PSTN throughout the VoIP serviceprovider's number porting process.
