BULLYINGhasnoplacehereatRamsey.TherewasrecentlyaNetflixseriesthatcameoutcalled“13ReasonsWhy,”andthatshowwastalkingaboutagirlnamedHannahBakerandshecommitssuicidebecausepeoplewerebullyingher.Thewholepointofthisshowwastoshowviewersthatsuicideisneverokay.Butifyou’reever,EVERgettingbulliedyoucanalwaysgotoMrs.Cottingham(Ms.Tibbets).Youcanbeapartofhelpingthepeoplewhohavebeenbulliedbyhelpingthemandtakingastandandtellingthebullyto“backoff!!!”

It'shardbeingpartofalargeclass.It'slikeeveryone'scompetinginsomebiggamewherewhoevergetsthemostattentionfromtheteacherorgetsthemostquestionscorrectorwhoevermakesthewholeclasslaugh,distractingisn'tit.Butwhenpeoplearegenuinelystrugglingthey’reeasilyoverlookednotonlybystudentsbutteachersaswell.Theteacheralwayshelpsthepersonwhodoesn'tcareabouttheirgrade,thepersonwhothrowsthingsaroundclassroomthepersonwhoalwaysyellingandcussingatthestudentandtheteacher.Butwhenastudentactuallywantstothriveintheclassandsucceedtheteacherletsthatstudentfendforthemselves.Theteacherhandsyouhomeworkandallyouseeisajungleofwordsandlettersmixedupandyou'recompletelyandutterlylostandbaffled.Wonderingiftheteacherevenevertaughtyouthatorshehandedoutthewronghomeworkandyoulookaroundandseehalftheclassfinishingupthehomeworkandthenyouseetheotherhalfoftheclasslostasyouare.Andwhenyoufinallythinkyougottheansweryoudon'traiseyourhandcauseyou'retoonervousthatyou'llgetitwrongandbehumiliatedinfrontofthewholeclassroom.Ihaveexperiencedthispersonallyvariousamountsoftimesespeciallyinmath.It'saprovenfactthatstudentsinalargerclassroomarelesslikelytopayattention.

There'sfinallyasolutiontothisevergrowingprobleminschoolsnationwidesmallerclasssizes,countlessstudiesincluding.Thestudentwhoimprovesperformancesthemostaretheoneswhoneedthemosthelp.Eventhechancesofgraduatinghighschoolincreasesbyashocking80%.Andmostimportantlyeverystudentreceivestheindividualizedattentionthatthestudentneedbytheteacherwithlessstudentsintheclassroomtheteacherfinallyhastheflexibilitytoworkwithastudentandcovermoreacademicmaterialsandsincethere'slessstudentsitwon'tbeastimeconsuming.Thishasadramaticeffectinthestudent’sbehavioraswell.Thisgivesthestudentsaoutofthequestionrushofconfidence,selfesteemandcomfortthattheywouldn'tfindinaregularsizedclassroom.

There'salsolongtermbenefitstosmallclasssizes.Theyhaveanincreasedchanceoftakingcollegeentranceexams.Studentsathighschoolevenhaveanincreasedchanceofgettingintoadvancedcourses.It'stimethatnotonlystudentsbutteachers takeadvantageofthepowerofsmallclasseshasonstudents andthebeneficial outcomesofit.
