GENERAL PURPORT OR EFFECT OF THE ABOVEMENTIONED STATUTORY RULES

(1) Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Regulations 2016These regulations–

(a) prescribe classes of police officers as authorised persons; and(b) prescribe laws of foreign jurisdictions as corresponding Acts; and(c) prescribe classes of orders as corresponding offender reporting orders; and(d) prescribe orders under the Criminal Justice (Mental Impairment) Act 1999 as sentences; and(e) prescribe authorities as the supervising authorities of classes of reportable offenders; and(f) specify foreign witness-protection laws and corresponding Acts for the purposes of section 40(2) of the Community

Protection (Offender Reporting) Act 2005; and(g) are made consequentially on the repeal of the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Regulations 2006 under

section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992.

(2) Heavy Vehicle National Law (Tasmania) Amendment Regulations 2016These regulations amend the Heavy Vehicle National Law (Tasmania) Regulations 2014 by updating the table of infringement notice offences consequent on changes to the Heavy Vehicle National Law.

(3) Poisons Amendment Regulations 2016These regulations amend the Poisons Regulations 2008 to–

(a) enable the Director of Public Health and medical practitioners to issue standing orders for the administration of restricted substances and narcotic substances by certain health professionals in certain circumstances; and

(b) alter the conditions that certain medical practitioners must comply with on issuing a prescription; and(c) prescribe certain persons who are pharmaceutical chemists, midwives and registered nurses as persons who may

administer to another person a vaccine listed in Schedule 4 to the Poisons list and the circumstances in which that administration is to occur; and

(d) make provision in relation to certain other miscellaneous matters under the Act.
