Br Vika Dominic Chishi
State Award for
Br Sathish Fernandes
Br Vika Dominic Chishi was ordained by
Most Rev. Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of
Kohima on Thursday, 21st January 2021 in
Holy Cross Church Dimapur, Nagaland. It was
animated in a traditional way under the guid-
ance of the Parish Priest and all the faithful of
the Parish. The youth volunteers geared up the
holy event with enthusiasm, the choir sang with
angelic voices, altar servers assisted whole-
heartedly. We are indebted to all the friars in-
volved in making it a successful event. We thank
greatly the benefactors of Br Vika Dominic
Chishi who supported the priestly formation of
Br. Dominic. As we congratulate our friar and
new Priest Vika Dominic Chishi, we wish him
all the best in his priestly life and mission.

Raja Prashati"
state award for
his dedicated and
valuable service
towards the wel-
fare of children at
the International
Women's Day
Program.
The award was given in recognition of the unde-
terred and relentless work towards children and
youth at risk. Hon'ble Chief Minister Sri B.S.
Yediyurappa inaugurated the function and exhi-
bition stalls. Mrs. Shashikala Annasaheb Jolle,
Hon'ble Minister for Department of Women and
Child Department Karnataka honored the state
award- Makkala Kalyana Raja Prashati-
2020-2021 along with certificate. The dignitar-
ies and organizers from the state applauded the
efforts and services of VIMUKTI on the occa-
sion.

Mizoram
Inauguration of Mission House & Foun-
dation Stone Blessing of St Francis of Assisi
Friary, Dolu, Barak Valley, Silchar, Aizawl,
Mizoram Diocese, North East was held on
25th January 2021. We thank Br Joel Rosario,
pioneering missionary, Br Stany Roshan
D'Souza, Provincial Delegate and all the friars
of Christ the King Delegation, Mizoram-
Tripura-Silchar Baraka Valley Region.

80th Year of Existence of
OFS Udupi Fraternity
New Start-up venture -
Poultry Farm at DSA
The OFS Udupi Fraternity celebrated 80th
year of their existence. On this occasion a
Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at Udupi.
Bishop Gerald Lobo of Udupi officiated the
Eucharist. Br Maxim Pinto and Br John
Fernandes concelebrated. In his homily Br
Maxim said that St Francis of Assisi became
the salt of the earth and light of the world dur-
ing his time. Today we need to continue to live
the same message of the gospel. The Bishop
spoke of 3 points: 1. St Francis loved the poor.
2. He loved the Nature. 3. He lived the Gos-
pel. He congratulated the OFS members and
thanked them for their good work. The parish
priest Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca welcomed
the celebrant's and the congregation.
DSA community went 'vocal for local'. The
brothers initiated a mini-Poultry Farm, which
is flourishing under the leadership of start-up
Director Br Salvador Fernandes and Manager
Br Antony Raj and under the tender loving
hands of Br Devasya. In addition, the existing
ventures like Rabbit Farm and Pig Farm are
also booming.
From Rome to Home:
Welcome to Br Denis Veigas
Br Dr. Denis Veigas was accorded an of-
ficial welcome to Darshan Institute and Fra-
ternity. Br Rector, felicitated him with Mysore
Peta, shawl and garland. The Rector introduced
Dr. Denis and his thesis "Graduality in Truth in
the light of St. Augustine's De vera religione
(On True Religion). Dr. Denis is an added joy
to the Institute. We wish him fruitful ministry of
teaching.

DSA at Public Rally to Support
Human Rights Activists
Delegation Meeting,
Dimapur
DSA brothers took part in a public rally
which was organised by Indian Social Institute,
Bangalore and Archdiocese of Bangalore on
12th November, 2020.Many people including
Religious and laity came in large numbers to
condemn the arrest of Human Rights Activists
and to express their solidarity towards the hu-
man rights defenders.
For better administration of the delega-
tion, the friars of the Infant Jesus Delegation
came together in Capuchin House for the yearly
meeting on 16th December, 2020. Br Isaac
Baptist, the delegate was the convener. Friars
spent two days in discussion. It was concluded
with a few important resolutions.
Lenten Campaign 2021
Mercy Walk & Mercy Kit
In order to make the Lenten
Season 2021 more meaningful,
Divine Mercy Retreat Centre of St
Anne's Friary launched 'Mercy
Walk', 'Karuneya Nadige',
'Kakultichim Pavlam.' Accordingly
on every Friday of the Lent, dif-
ferent preachers were invited to
preach the retreats on the theme,
'Mercy Walk'. To make it con-
crete, the guardian introduced to
people the concept of 'Mercy Kit',
preparing a kit which contains es-
sential groceries worth Rs 1,000-
It was distributed to the poor families before Divine Mercy Sunday, with the help of Divine
Mercy core committee, OFS members and members of St Padre Pio group. 500 families were
helped.

Appointed Registrars of Christian Marriages

A special family retreat was organized
on 26th of March. Br Richard Quadras,
Animator of Divine Mercy Retreat Centre,
Bejai and group from Potta lead the
retreat on the theme, 'Somyaso Kuris
Sutkechem hater, Tacher amchi nadar.' The
retreat included adoration, Eucharistic
celebration, way of the cross, reflections
on the Passion of Christ and special
healing session. More than 300 people
participated in the retreat.
27TH CONVOCATION AT FISI
Convocation Ceremony of FISI was
held on 26th of March. Dr. Cynthia
Menezes Prabhu, Dean of the Faculty of
Commerce and Management –
Bangalore University was the Chief Guest.
The Academic Report was delivered by
the Director. The chief guest delivered
the Convocation Address and awarded
the Diplomas to 16 Sisters.
As this year is dedicated to St
Joseph, a special retreat was conducted
on 19th of March by Br Roshan
Rosario. As the day was dedicated to all
the fathers, special prayers were
offered on behalf of all the dads during
the adoration and Eucharistic
Celebration.
