has directed Grove City to nine Presidents’ AthleticConference (PAC) championships along with threeEastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) SouthernChampionships.
In 2005, Roberts directed an extremely young GroveCity squad to a 15-15 record along with the champion-
ship at the season-opening Oberlin Invitational. On Sept. 30, 2004, Roberts became the 14th active Division III women’s

Roberts earned the Collegiate Volleyball Coaches Association’s Division IIICoach of the Year award following the 1985 season. Grove City finished theregular season ranked No. 1 nationally in the AVCA poll in 1985.
Grove City closed the 1980s as the PAC’s dominant program, winningconference titles in 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1989. That dominance continued intothe 1990s as the Wolverines won PAC crowns in 1992, 1993 and 1995.
The 1994 team became the first College team to earn an ECAC title as theWolverines swept Washington and Jefferson and Rutgers-Newark for the ECACSouthern Championship crown. Grove City repeated as ECAC champion in1995.

VOLLEYBALL 20063
2006 SEASON PREVIEWWith eight returning upperclassmen in its projected
lineup, the Grove City College volleyball team featuresplenty of depth and experience in preparation for the2006 season.
Grove City returns its entire starting lineup fromlast season as the 2005 roster featured no seniors.
The Wolverines will rely on three senior tri-captainsin their drive towards a Presidents’ Athletic Conferencetitle. Senior middle hitter Carlie Roberts is a three-yearstarter while senior libero Emily Rossol and senior out-side hitter Allison Cummings are both two-year fixturesin the Wolverine rotation.
Roberts earned First Team All-PAC honors follow-ing the 2005 season after leading Grove City in kills, hitting percentage, aces and blocks. She led the PAC inhitting percentage and blocks.
Rossol led Grove City in digs after moving into thestarting libero position during the preseason.Cummings, meanwhile, ranked second on the team inassists, third in blocks and fourth in hitting percentagelast year. Cummings, Roberts and Rossol all played in all107 games last season.
Grove City will also count on a talented quintet ofjuniors this season. Kim Walsh enters her third seasonas the Wolverines’ starting setter.
She averaged 10.50 assists per game last year, fourthin the PAC.
Juniors Brittany Anderson and Katie Skinner alsoreturn for their third season. Like Walsh, Andersonplayed in all 107 games last year. Anderson finishedsecond on the team in blocks from her middle hitterpost.
Carlie Roberts (left) and Natalie Liberati rankedfirst and second, respectively, in hitting percentagein the PAC during conference play.
Skinner is looking to move into the starting lineupon a full-time basis this year after injuries sidelined herfor a significant portion of 2005.
Grove City also returns a pair of second-year play-ers in juniors Heather Fraiz and Brooke Mincey. Fraizfinished second to Rossol in digs last year. Fraiz playedin all 30 matches in her first season as a member of theWolverine program.
Mincey played in 89 total games as a defensive spe-cialist and will again likely be a key contributor to GroveCity’s defense.
Grove City also returns a pair of sophomoreletterwinners in middle hitter Natalie Liberati and out-side hitter Meghan Glenn. Liberati emerged as her fresh-man season progressed and ultimately finished secondon the team in kills and hitting percentage.
Glenn appeared in eight matches as a rookie in2005 and will compete for a spot in the Wolverine rota-tion this fall.
Junior middle hitter Brittany Anderson is a two-year letterwinner for Grove City.

THE PRESIDENTS’ ATHLETIC CONFERENCEFounded in 1955, the Presidents’ Athletic Confer-
ence continues its mission of promoting intercollegiateathletics and the pursuit of academic excellence.
Comprised of 10 select private colleges - BethanyCollege, Chatham College, Geneva College, Grove CityCollege, Saint Vincent College, Thiel College, ThomasMore College, Washington & Jefferson College,Waynesburg College and Westminster College - the PACremains a unique organization in this day of high pres-sure intercollegiate athletics.
With academics at the center of each member’s phi-losophy, the PAC is built on the principle that an athleticprogram is a part of college life, but not an entity initself.
The PAC expanded to seven members in April 2005with the addition of Thomas More College of CrestviewHills, Ky. During the 2005-06 academic year, ChathamCollege, Geneva College and Saint Vincent College alljoined the PAC.
Saint Vincent will play a full conference schedule in
2006-07 while Chatham and Geneva will begin playingfull PAC schedules in the 2007-08 year.
The PAC annually crowns champions in 19 sports.All-Conference status is awarded in all 19 sports. Headcoaches select all-league squads for all team sports, while in individual sports such as cross country and ten-nis, all-PAC accolades are based upon performances atthe conference championships.
The PAC annually awards its men’s and women’sAll-Sports Trophies to the schools which perform bestacross the board in conference competition.
Washington & Jefferson won both the Men’s andWomen’s All-Sports Trophies in 2005-06..
In 2005-2006, the league named XXX student-ath-letes to the PAC Academic Honor Roll, which recog-nizes all participating student-athletes who attain a termgrade-point average of 3.60 or above. G

GROVE CITY COLLEGE
The beautifully landscapedcampus of Grove City Collegestretches over 150 acres and in-cludes 27 neo-Gothic buildings. Itis considered one of the loveliestin the nation.
While the College haschanged to meet the needs of thesociety it serves, its basic philoso-phy has remained unchangedsince its founding in 1876. It is aChristian, liberal arts institution, dedicated to the principle of pro-viding the highest quality educa-tion at the lowest possible cost.
Wishing to remain truly inde-pendent and to retain its distinc-tive qualities as a private schoolgoverned by private citizens (trust-ees), it is one of few colleges in thecountry that does not accept fed-eral monies.
Affiliated with the Presbyte-rian Church (U.S.A.), but not nar-rowly denominational, the Col-lege believes that to be well-edu-cated a student should be exposedto the central ideas of the Judeo-Christian tradition.
Grove City College offers un-dergraduate degrees in liberalarts, sciences, engineering, busi-ness, and music and is distin-guished as a national leader ineducation.
Grove City’s programs in elec-trical and mechanical engineeringare accredited by the EngineeringAccreditation Commission Boardof the Accreditation Board for En-gineering and Technology.
The “big business school cur-riculum” prepares students fortoday’s global business reality. Anextensive variety of internship op-portunities are provided across thecurriculum.
Grove City College wants itsstudents to be prepared in this ageof mobile information technology. Each entering freshman receivesa color notebook computer, soft-ware and a printer, which are hisor hers to keep upon graduationwith a four-year degree.
All students receive thoroughinstruction on how to use theircomputers. This is part of the In-formation Technology Initiative, atotal program integrating technol-ogy across the curriculum.
The College believes that itsstudent body has a unique mix oftalents and abilities. Its Career Ser-vices program helps students iden-tify those key assets during the firstyear and then builds a four-yearstrategy to help them pursue a sat-isfying career.
Personal counseling, profes-sional speakers, databases, alumnicontacts, summer internships, cor-porate visits, employer presenta-tions and more are incorporatedinto the career preparation expe-rience. Grove City follows the se-mester calendar plan, in additionto offering two-week intersessionsin January and May.
Most of the 2,300 students livein separate men’s and women’sresidence halls. The others are lo-cal commuters or married stu-dents. A full program of cultural, professional, athletic and social ac-tivities is offered, including 19 in-tercollegiate varsity athletic teams.
