Pastor’s Column Special thanks to everyone who helped with Vacation Bible School! We had a team of faithful workers. We trust that gospel seeds that were sown this week will grow in the hearts of children, leading them to turn to Christ in faith. We are grateful for Marla Grissom and Yvonne Scoggins who worked tirelessly in leading our Vacation Bible School.

Also, we recently celebrated Classics Recognition Sunday. It was a joy to honor our senior members and to award the Classics of the Year to Beverly Jeffcoat, a lady who serves in countless ways. We are grateful for our seniors and their dedication to the Lord and FBC! Special thanks to our Classics Ministry Team: Janellen and Robert Paysinger, Frankie Dickie, Brenda and Bob McCullough, Linda Swift, Shirley Ayers. They have done a fantastic job of serving our church!

Our church was also a participant in HOTT Days in which volunteers and youth from our church and area churches served people in our community in the name of Christ. We are grateful to Ralph Huerta for his leadership in HOTT Days and for all who volunteered!

In our June Members' Meeting, our church voted to move forward with a process of revitalization. We've been talking about this for a while, but we now are moving forward. Throughout this process, we will focus on prayer, asking the Lord to give us a fresh love for Him. We'll ask foundational questions about our church, community, and mission. We'll think about how best to align our ministry efforts to accomplish the calling that God has given us. For this effort to be successful, it will require the commitment of our entire church family. Please join me in prayer as we begin this vital process of revitalization. - Lonnie

The Lord’s Supper will be observed during the worship service. A fellowship meal will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. The church will supply the main dish and drinks.

Crossroads Academy

High School Registration at Benson Campus

Monday - Thursday, 8 am - 5 pm

Crossroads Academy High School is UCISD’s new alternative high school for the 2019/2020 school year. They are designed to offer at risk students alternate pathways to high school graduation, professional confidence, and future success. To be eligible, a student must live in Uvalde and have proof of residence, 16 years of age and under 21 by September 1st, Minimum of 10 high school credits, passed at least 1 end of course exam (STAAR) and have a student/parent/guardian interview. Foreign Exchange Student

Be a missionary in your own home. Host a foreign exchange student this year. Over 30 kids need loving host families in August. The kids are from many different countries. They have their own health insurance, spending money, and want to experience life in America, and improve their English skills. They attend your local high school, can take the school bus, and follow your rules. They can share a room with a same sex sibling. You provide room and board.
