Presidential elections already took place inVenezuela, Somailia, Georgia and will betaking place in the USA. I hope that studentstake some interest in the democratic processand also see how these countries have somesimilarities and can also be interconnectedwith Colombia. Our world is incontrovertiblyinterdependent!
WE are proud to say that we have beenaccepted to the AASSA organisation(Association of American Schools in SouthAmerica). This prestigious honour places usamong other schools such as Colegio Parrish,Nueva Granada, Panamericano and JorgeWashington, to name a few. We are surelygoing to be a top school in Colombia and in theworld, in the next several years!

Our grade six students have been in charge of monitoring the trampoline(aka TheJUMPER) at break time.
In so doing, they are learning how be better leaders and work collaboratively. This past week, they have runinto some organizational difficulties and are realizing that group dynamics can be challenging.
With some Teacher and Director support, grade 6 is STILL developing critical thinking and problem
management skills. It is a good learning experience for them when trying to assume more responsibility.
Break time is over so lets get back to class!Yeahhhh!!!

Recently, I also attended a workshop in Cartegena, regarding accreditingour school with AdvancED, formerly known as SACS. In the next coupleof years, our team of skilled educators aim to prepare La Sierra for theaccreditation process with this esteemed organization.
Although we are already a quality school, this accreditation will give us amore robust profile among quality international schools in the world. Thissignifies a strong commitment towards continual school improvement forour students and our entire school community.
What this also means is, when your sons and daughters graduate from LaSierra International School, universities around the world will recognizetheir studies as being of the highest quality!
