Summer feels like it is almost here, and with it comes car shows, drives with the top off, and perhaps a sunburn or three. And if you are like me, you want to take your Vette everywhere you go. I'm thinking the Ozarks, the Rockies and the Gulf shore beach. Like many of you, I'm going to clean her up and enter into a few car shows. And I'll try not to get too overzealous protecting our baby, even though it's agonizing when someone leans on the freshly waxed paint and leaves a greasy handprint. (Just wondering: If there were a security system that vaporized anyone that got too close - What would it cost? …. Could Dallas install it?) There will be an exciting event this summer - the unveiling of the new C8 Mid-Engine Corvette on July 18th. In the last week we learned that General Motors plans to add a second shift and more than 400 hourly and 40 salaried positions at its Bowling Green, KY assembly plant to support production of the C8 Continued on Page 2

The additional shift, which GM announced Thursday, is expected to beadded during the second half of the year, according to a GM spokesman.They do not expect to hire any new employees to fill the shift believingthey have enough current employees, including those on layoff, to fill thepositions.The BG factory employs nearly 900 people: 714 hourly, 164 salaried.Corvette production was last on two shifts in 1985 following the introductionof the fourth-generation Corvette for the 1984 model-year. That secondshift lasted for a year.

Minutes from the April 3, 2019 ACCC MeetingCalled to order by President Mike Blackburn at 6:45pm at Davis-Moore ChevroletRoll call by registration; 33 members presentThere were 5 guests in attendance.Ron Hayword, a guest of Andy Michael is celebrating birthday 54 on this date. Linda & Mel Graves (Burgundy 2016 Z51)Marty Cessna (Red 2001 Coupe)Curtis Tobias owns a Sliver 1984 Coupe that he is donating as a prize to be raffled as a fund raiser. The proceeds will be donated tosupport the victims injured in the recent Clearwater car crash. Mr. Tobias explained the situation and long-term care that will berequired. He is asking ACCC, as a non-profit organization, to sponsor the raffle as required by State laws. A motion was made by Mike Dierking to have ACCC sponsor the raffle given it is within the parameters of what the Club can do. 2nd byTex Titterington. Members were unanimously in favor of helping with this cause and supporting the effort in any way possible to have asuccessful outcome.Minutes from previous meeting: Motion to approve as written by Ron Oelkers, 2nd by Jay Shore.Approved with no oppositionSecretary, Marc Haynes: Birthday party for Mike Mckee was very well attended. Mike was very happy and enjoyed it. Dallas Keller reported that Deb Schmitz had a medical episode and is doing fine now. Vice President Charlie Timmons: Club’s membership. 89 memberships currently in good standing with 65 spouses/others. Total is154No new members, no renewals for the month.Treasurer, Linda Smith: Beginning balance $1675.62. $0 expenses, $54 income (50/50 $24, new member $30). Ending balance $1729.62. A written report is on file.President Balckburn addressed pending financial adjustments from previous discussions. First item is raising the annual dues structure by $5. Kent Michael provided some history on this item from years past. Sharon Magyar made a motion to revise the Club by Laws to reflect an increase of $5 for renewals and new memberships,effective in 2020. Renewals will become $30, new memberships will be $35. Late fees of $5 on renewals will remain the same.2nd by Jay Shore. Motion passed with no opposition. Members attending the annual Award Banquet will pay the sales tax portion of the meal cost.Davis-Moore will pay entry fee for the Riverfest Sundown Parade. Club will purchase vinyl “cling type” banners to adhere to the side ofthe cars recognizing the Club and Davis-Moore. Efforts will be made to reduce food cost for the annual Christmas party. April 18-20 Hot Springs Corvette Weekend, Hot Springs, Arkansas, Convention Center. Mike Blackburn has arranged for a Club dining event that will also serve as a fund raiser. Tuesday, April 23, 6:30 pm. On the Border, 2347 N. Maize Rd. will donate 20% of food purchases back to the Club. Watch for an eventnotice on email and Facebook. May 4 Drive and Eat hosted by Marcene and Gene BrownRandy Smith advised that August Airport might be having a B-17 on site in June for photo opportunity. Membership ApplicationACCC Membership dues for 2020 are $35.00 for new members and $30.00 for renewals.

Dues paid by a new member joining after July 31st will apply for the remainder of the year as well as the next year.

For renewing members, dues are due and payable on September 1st and are delinquent after December 31st. If dues arenot received by December 31st, renewal will be the same amount as a new member ($35.00).

ACCC requires all members to be at least 18 years of age and hold a current valid driver's license.

ACCC Newsletters are E-Mailed free to all members monthly. Due to printing and postage charges, if you wish to haveprinted copies of the newsletters mailed to you, there will be an additional $20.00 per year charge.
