Christal Doyle and Larry Baker

Christal Doyle was introduced as Chair of the Street Fair Committee. She

shared her anticipation of a successful day on the Sunday ahead. Then she

introduced Larry Baker, Executive Treasurer to give an update on the event.

Larry noted that all the vendor spaces had already been totally sold out,

news which gained applause from the group. He reminded the group that it

will be very important that the street marking crew be ready to go at 4:30

AM since the vendors start coming in to set up at 6 AM. He also reminded

us that at least it was a half hour later than usual. The crew could still sleep

in an extra half hour! The banner crew needs to have all the banners set by

6 AM as well, so that the streets would be clear for the vendors.

Larry showed the various maps of the event, pointing out where the ven-

dor check-in was, where the numbers on the booths were, and where the

parking was. He then asked those arriving for the morning shift to check in

at Mimi’s patio, and those for the afternoon shift to check in at the central

Rotary booth. Finally, Larry and Christal both stressed the importance of

vendors closing down right at 4 PM so that the road could be available to

the street sweepers in time.

Minutes of Meeting

October 13, 2016

Andrea McClellan shared the moment of Inspiration and Dan Overton led us in sing-

ing “My Country ‘tis of Thee.”

John Bradley introduced the guests and Jere Robings in-

troduced Carol Cohea, Public Programs Director of the

Reagan Library, who invited us to a national forum on the

topic of Spreading Prosperity and Improving Opportunity in

our country. The forum is sponsored by the National Issues Forum of the non-

partisan National Archives and Records Administration.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Matt Lallo announced the Rotary trip to Tiujana Oc-

tober 28-30. The group will go by train to San Diego

and be met by other Rotarians and taken across the

border. A golf tournament is planned as well as a tour

of the projects supported by our club as well as other

Rotarians. Matt invited the members to join the

group as they helped the Tiujana club celebrate its

85th year!

Trevor Tyloch asked for craft talk speakers for Rota-

ract meetings. He also asked for volunteers to help

with the Youth Citizenship Awards program.

Nancy Wohl noted that the Free Clinic was providing

flu shots on the 16th and 19th. Since the Street Fair

made it difficult for our club to assist on the 16th, she

hoped members would come to Westminster Clinic on

Wednesday the 19th from 4:30 to 8:30, coming at any

time as staying as long as they were able.

Bob Lewis reminded the members to be sure to sign

up for the Fireside Chats on the 27th and 28th.
