Greetings From Your Sr. Regent,

Good bye 2017, Hello 2018. Wow I can’t believe it is the New Year! Happy Birthday to all that have a Birthday this month. I hope you all had a Blessed Christmas with your family and pray you have had a Happy and Healthy start to the New Year. I want to thank all the Higher Degree LOOM & WOTM who stepped up and helped our Higher Degree Chairman Donna Gandy with the Christmas Gala. It turned out beautifully. See what we can accomplish when we all work together. And Hats off to our Community Service Chair Nikki Jones for an Outstanding job with her Kids Christmas with Santa and stocking give away. Not only did she give out 51 stockings for our Moose Lodge kids, she was able to take 120 stockings to the Hope Community. Thank you to all who donated $$, time, & candy for the stockings. I am so excited about what the WOTM has planned for 2018. Here are some up-coming dates to make your calendars. January is Activity & Sports month. Danielle Hay is the chair and she and her committee will be raffling off a Lottery and Gift Card Basket. We are in need of donations for gift cards of any kind. Tickets will go on sale Sunday January 21st. The basket will be given away on Friday Feb.2, 2018 Don’t forget to get your tickets for our Masquerade Ball that will be on February 3rd. Newsletter Date January 2017

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Well the last month of 2017 was exciting with all the Holiday Festivities going on at your

Lodge. The Christmas Gala sponsored jointly by the LOOM and WOTM Higher Degree

turned out fabulous. The food was great as was the entertainment by the 19 piece Talla-

hassee Swing Band. We had well over 100 who attended and it was enjoyed by all.

Thanks for all the hard work of all the volunteers who stepped up to make this such a

huge success.

Then on Sunday following the Christmas Gala, we had the KIDS Christmas Party. The

WOTM did a fantastic job putting this together. Not only did all the kids of Moose

Families attending get a stocking full of goodies but there was over 100 filled stocking

that was delivered to the Hope Community for underprivileged Kids.

Then on Christmas Eve we had our famous Hat Party. It you missed this event, you

missed a treat. The hats personally made were outstanding as was the fellowship.

And last but certainly not least, our New Years Eve Party. We had great food and enter-

tainment and at midnight we all brought in the New Year with a toast of Champagne.

What a fun time it was.

As we look forward to the new year, let us all remember and do what we can to sup-

port our kids at Mooseheart and our seniors at Moosehaven. Let us also make a com-

mitment to volunteer your time and services to help make our Lodge the best it can be.

It is every member’s obligation to volunteer and not just a select few. That is what being

a Moose Member is all about.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is off to a great start of the New

Year.

I would like to thank everyone who came out to enjoy our Rib Dinner. We hope this

was a good preview for our upcoming 2nd Annual Rib Cook-Off in March.

This month we will be hosting the Annual Chili Cook-Off on January 20th. We en-

courage any lodge members who are interested in entering to contact us. The

Moose Riders will be sponsoring the winner to participate in the Road Runners 15th

Annual Chili Cook-Off on February 3rd at Shuckers. Two weeks prior to the Cook

Off week will be selling tickets for a Booze Basket!!! The winner will be announced

during the Cook Off. Any donations to the basket would be greatly appreciated.
