NEWS Expense Reimbursement Forms  Please try to submit all 2015-2016 expense reimbursement forms by Friday, June 3. The last day to submit forms is Friday, June 19. CYOCongratulations to all of our Assumption girls basketball teams. The Metro League playoff schedule and final standings flyers are attached. Playoff admission is charged at the door for playoffs. Please let all parents know this. Adults are $5 and students $3. Children 5 and under are free. With the dedication and support from the coaches, Adonica Powell & Jerome Chappel, the Assumption Track & Field team had four runners that qualified for the Diocese Championship that took place on May 6th & 7th. The qualifiers were Kemoni B. (400M), Christian C. (200M), Zorah C. (1600M), and Emily M. (800M). Out of those four, we had two students from Assumption that placed in their respective events and they were Zorah C. (2nd Place) and Christian C. (5th Place).Scholarship Track StarMission Valley CYO Track Section 3 has presented their annual MV3 Scholarship Award to Michelle O. (’16) from Assumption CYO Track, San Leandro. The award was not based on ability but on understanding and living Christian values through sports. She was described as "a very exuberant, funny and articulate young lady." Congratulations to this fine young athlete! In the Classroom6th Grade History students have been stepping into the role of a museum curator and creating exhibits about the Shang Dynasty of Ancient China. We do not have a lot of written history from this early Dynasty so much of what we know is from artifacts found and traced back to that time. Students spent the week observing pictures of artifacts and learning about the Shang Dynasty in different areas including social structure, government, religion, arts, and writing. Their final project is a museum exhibit showing three artifacts and what they tell us about the Shang Dynasty in those different areas. Some students are also creating actual artifacts out of clay to go with the museum posters they created. Assumption Wants You!Our School Board is looking for new members interested in serving on the School Board or on a committee for the 2016-2017 school year. If you have talents in marketing, communications, faith formation, fund-raising, or simply want to provide a vision and voice into the future of our school community please review the attached flyer.
