STC AVIATOR 200 Update

On December 14, 2010, the FAA issued STC ST03901AT to the Ban-yan Avionics team for the Thrane and Thrane AVIATOR 200 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) system for the Cessna 500, 550, S550, 552, 560, and 560XL aircraft. Then on February 25, 2011, ANAC is-sued Brazilian STC 2011S02-14 and 2011S02-15.

“We are excited to receive the first STC for the SwiftBroadBand (SBB) 200 class of service in the United States,” says Brian Wilson, Banyan’s director of avionics. “Banyan has been one of the industry leaders for High Speed Data and Wi-Fi installations for the last three years and to receive this STC before most vendors have even delivered their products to the market clearly shows the vision of both Banyan and their partner Thrane and Thrane. The AVIATOR 200 is a perfect fit for our Latin American customers providing both data and voice coverage throughout Central and South America. Brazil is one of the fastest growing countries in the world and staying connected is a ne-cessity.”

The AVIATOR 200 turns your air-craft into a hot spot and enables pilots and passengers to use Wi-Fi enabled PDA devices including Blackberry®, iPhone® and iPads to access a multi-tude of applications; such as, email, internet browsing, smart phone con-nectivity and voice communications.

“As the launch customer for this in-novative new system, we could not

s Banyan was proud to be the host facility for The Crisis, a 4D produc-tion of 4 KIDS of South Florida. This was an interactive evening where people had the opportunity to feel…see…and experience the true story of a young girl, found sleeping on a park bench, lost and lonely, without hope for her future. Visitors to the event could walk through her jour-ney and experience her life of drugs, alcohol, body cutting, the occult, police activity, foster care and more. Visitors could feel her emotions during this event and how she found safety, security and stability in the foster care system.

Early in 2010, Banyan teammates selected 4KIDS of South Florida as their corpo-rate charity. Teammates contribute funds through payroll deductions and volunteer

time to help renovate homes and work at events such as “The Crisis.” In addition, Sueanne Campion is on the Board of Directors and is an active participant in the organization.

4KIDS of South Florida is a nonprofit organization committed to meeting the needs of thousands of children in foster care. From the moment a child is removed from their family because of abuse, abandonment, or neglect, this organization provides for them physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. 4KIDS has over 100 licensed foster homes and foster families, twelve family-style homes, and cares for over 1000 children each year. For more information about 4KIDS of South Florida, visit www.4KIDSofSFL.org.

t Over 50 volunteers contributed 1,000 hours on this project. Weeks before the event, volunteers constructed the rooms and trucks arrived with furniture that would be placed in the twelve room sets. Days before the event, the sets were moved to Banyan’s hangar, furnishings were added, and photos of Gabby’s life were hung. Over three evenings, 700 guests walked through Gabby’s life.To understand more about Gabby’s life, read Recollection of an Evening on the web at http://tinyurl.com/3u4plc3There is also a short video at http://tinyurl.com/3jmbeja

Don Campion Receives JA Award

Don Campion was recently inducted into the Junior Achievement (JA) South Florida Business Hall of Fame. This event recognizes leaders for their business excellence, courageous vision, inspired leadership and outstanding contributions to the South Florida community.

“JA World is a wonderful learning experience that inspires and prepares our young people to succeed in a global economy. Stop by on a weekday and you will be amazed with the energy and excitement of the hundreds of young people that have prepared at their schools for this day. A student can be a banker, a salesmen, a newscaster, a technician for the day and gain knowledge of what it means to take responsibility. A place that opens the minds of young people to career possibilities and reinforces the concept of reaping what you sow … and that results are a function of the choices one makes,” said Don.

In addition to Don, four other well-known South Florid-ians were inducted: Paul Daly, Reliance Supply Company, Harry Patten, Patten Family Foundation and Tom and Mau-reen Shea, Right Management Associates.

The event was held at JA World Huizenga Center at Broward College and included a cocktail party, buffet dinner, entertainment and presentations. Each Laureate was honored with a slide show of their photos, testimonial videos, and a special introduction by a young person. Don’s videos included comments from Michael O’Keeffe, Gregg Wallick, Mark Schumacher and a special introduction by Lauren O’Keeffe.

Aircraft Sales Market Update

Do You Know The Value of Your Aircraft?

Michael O’Keeffe, Sr. Vice President Aircraft Sales & Management

Banyan Aircraft Sales specializes in aircraft selection, valuation, negotiation, inspection and management of turbine aircraft.

Call Today To See How Banyan Aircraft Sales Can Help You

The last 2-years have seen aircraft values

plummet to unprecedented lows, some have fallen as much as 50%. Each day I’m surprised to speak to aircraft owners that are unaware of the current market value of their aircraft. Many owners have accepted our invitation of a complimentary desktop appraisal and are often devastated by the result. In many cases ignorance is bliss, especially if there are no plans to sell the aircraft in the foreseeable future.

Knowing the current value of the aircraft is just good business. You can be assured your lender is watching the aircrafts value closely, especially if the loan balance far exceeds its current market value.

Many owners are surprised to learn how “under water” they really are with the aircraft.

If your plans include selling or upgrading an aircraft, knowing it’s real market value in advance could prove to be very useful information. With values still low, now is not the ideal time to sell an aircraft, it can however be an ideal time to trade!
