Coach Stanley has been coaching for 24 years. He was an assistant at Ponder from 2000 to 2004, and was part of the 2001 state championship staff. Coach Stanley be- came the head coach of Sanger High School in 2004 and returned to Ponder to become the Athletic Director/Head Boys Basketball Coach in 2009. Coach Stanley led the Lions to the 2010 State Championship in his first year as the head coach at Ponder. In 2014, Coach Stanley again led the Lions to a state championship, the school's fifth. Coach Stanley has a career record of 373 wins and 133 losses. Coach Stanley has served on the TABC board of directors. He has also been an all- regional coordinator for 13 years. Coach Stanley and his wife Amy have been married 12 years and have 2 children, 8 year old Jason and 5 year old Emma. Amy teaches 4th grade at Ponder Elementary. He served as a Board member for three years (2012-2015) before becoming president of HABCA (2015-2016). 2018 Texas Basketball Hall of Fame Induction

The Texas Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2018 includes Gary Sibley, Noel John-ston, Phil McNeely, Carl Irbeck, Tony Harper, Robert Capello, Angela Lawson and

Sue Janes-Caddell. This deserving group of Texas legends will be inducted during Hall of Fame at the TABC clinic in the Coronado Ballroom at the El Tropicano Hotel in San Antonio on Saturday, May 19 at 6:00 pm. Tickets to the banquet can be purchased by calling 281-313-8222. General pub-lic tickets are $35. TABC members may purchase tickets for a discounted rate of $20. No banquet tickets will be sold at the door but gallery seat-ing will be available to anyone wanting to attend the ceremony.

People, Places and Things The Prairie View Interscholastic League Coaches Association (PVILCA) has selected Coach Lester King of Goodrich HS to be inducted into the 2018 PVILCA Hall of Fame. The banquet is scheduled for July 21, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk Hotel, 123 Losoya St., San Antonio, Texas.

Mark your calendars for next year’s state tournaments. Girls - Feb. 28, March 1, 2. Boys - March 7, 8, 9. All games for both UIL state tournaments will return to the San Antonio Alamodome. Order tickets now!

TABC Clinic Golf Tournament

The 15th Annual TABC Golf Tournament will be held Thursday,

May 17 at Canyon Springs Golf Club in San Antonio. The shotgun start is at 8:00, giving you

enough time to have a great morning on the course and still make it to the first clinic speaker

that afternoon. The $70 entry fee includes your green fee, gold cart, range balls and lunch.

The tournament is open to the first 128 TABC members who sign up. The entry form can be

found on the TABC web site at www.tabchoops.org. Just select the Clinic button and then the

Golf Entry button to get the registration form.
