Friendship to Friend Trip - Thai Smile Radio

Khun Numfhon, a director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) (Sydney) has introduced a new program called Friendship To Friend Trip. This program is part of the 60th Anniversary for the relationship establishment between Thailand and Australia. Particularly, when we look at a good relationship between Thailand and Australia; there are more than 700,000 of Australian tourists who travel to Thailand per year. While for Thai students, Australia is a popular place for them to study abroad. To support a good relationship between two countries in the near future, TAT launched a program called Friendship to Friend Trip and invited both Australian and Thai mass media to join the program and hope that they would encourage and attract many Australians and Thailand students to visit and have an amazing trip in Thailand. At the same time, Mr. Surapol Savetseranee, the director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mr. Paradech Payarkvichean and Ms. Pornsiri Manoharn; the three formers directors of Tourism Authority of Thailand (Sydney) have agreed to the program and have contributed to creating 3 easy to use maps while travelling through Thailand. M.R. Narisara Jukkrapong has also welcomed the mass media to her private palace near Jao Praya River.

There will be 3 different tours on offer and each with their own maps. It is a great way for tourists to see and explore the different sites and attractions of Thailand. An explanation on the public transport:

Airport Rail Link - A 30 minute direct line connecting from Airport to the city (Phaya Thai station). The line runs from 6am to midnight and a frequently every 15-50 minutes.

BTS & MRT; sky train and subway which link you to many hotels, shopping malls, parks and central business district in Bangkok. There will be no traffic so you can freely walk around Chatuchak Garden and Aor Tor Kor Market only 30 minutes from the centre of city (Siam).

Ferry; shorten your transportation time. The boat will pass Klong Bang Luang in Bangkok Yai Suburb. There, you could observe the lifestyles of people who live near the river and all the conservative arts. Nowadays, there will be a Thai puppet show for people who love the old traditional and cultural of Thailand.

In addition, there is also a sight that many people havent had experienced which is Yaowarat or Bangkoks Chinatown in the day time. At Yaowarat, you will get to try out different types of food such as Mongs oyster pancakes, Labour Noodles. Obviously, Yaowarat was built follow-ing the fung-sui; by having a head of a dragon, a body as shops and foods and the tail which headed to the sea. There are also many European and Islam building heritages styles located within Yaowarat.

All trips have a variety of activities, seeing both fauna and flora, cycling, cooking demo, Thai traditional massage and cruising.

First trip; Green Experience Thailand

For those who want to get close to nature. A perfect jungle which contains rare exotic birds and animals of the sea. A roadmap was planned by Mr. Surapol. We would bring you to a place where there will be no imperfection. All these include; Petchaburi, Kang Krajan, Hua Hin and Kampangsan, Nakhon Pathom. Arts, Aroma and Civilization If you are interested in all those, this trip is a must! Ms. Pornsiri chose this tour to present a highlight of Thailand because you will get to shop at Bangkoks latest malls and head up to Chiang Mai for Lanna Cultural and Traditional activities. Also, get a chance to visit Doi Suthep; seeing The Royal Flora and have a taste of Lannas food. The last stop will be returning to Bangkok for their arts museum and an old palace, Anatta society.

Friendship to Friend Trip - Thai Smile Radio

Khun Numfhon, a director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) (Sydney) has introduced a new program called Friendship To Friend Trip. This program is part of the 60th Anniversary for the relationship establishment between Thailand and Australia. Particularly, when we look at a good relationship between Thailand and Australia; there are more than 700,000 of Australian tourists who travel to Thailand per year. While for Thai students, Australia is a popular place for them to study abroad. To support a good relationship between two countries in the near future, TAT launched a program called Friendship to Friend Trip and invited both Australian and Thai mass media to join the program and hope that they would encourage and attract many Australians and Thailand students to visit and have an amazing trip in Thailand. At the same time, Mr. Surapol Savetseranee, the director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mr. Paradech Payarkvichean and Ms. Pornsiri Manoharn; the three formers directors of Tourism Authority of Thailand (Sydney) have agreed to the program and have contributed to creating 3 easy to use maps while travelling through Thailand. M.R. Narisara Jukkrapong has also welcomed the mass media to her private palace near Jao Praya River.

There will be 3 different tours on offer and each with their own maps. It is a great way for tourists to see and explore the different sites and attractions of Thailand. An explanation on the public transport:

Airport Rail Link - A 30 minute direct line connecting from Airport to the city (Phaya Thai station). The line runs from 6am to midnight and a frequently every 15-50 minutes.

BTS & MRT; sky train and subway which link you to many hotels, shopping malls, parks and central business district in Bangkok. There will be no traffic so you can freely walk around Chatuchak Garden and Aor Tor Kor Market only 30 minutes from the centre of city (Siam).

Ferry; shorten your transportation time. The boat will pass Klong Bang Luang in Bangkok Yai Suburb. There, you could observe the lifestyles of people who live near the river and all the conservative arts. Nowadays, there will be a Thai puppet show for people who love the old traditional and cultural of Thailand.

In addition, there is also a sight that many people havent had experienced which is Yaowarat or Bangkoks Chinatown in the day time. At Yaowarat, you will get to try out different types of food such as Mongs oyster pancakes, Labour Noodles. Obviously, Yaowarat was built follow-ing the fung-sui; by having a head of a dragon, a body as shops and foods and the tail which headed to the sea. There are also many European and Islam building heritages styles located within Yaowarat.

All trips have a variety of activities, seeing both fauna and flora, cycling, cooking demo, Thai traditional massage and cruising.

First trip; Green Experience Thailand

For those who want to get close to nature. A perfect jungle which contains rare exotic birds and animals of the sea. A roadmap was planned by Mr. Surapol. We would bring you to a place where there will be no imperfection. All these include; Petchaburi, Kang Krajan, Hua Hin and Kampangsan, Nakhon Pathom. Throughout the trip you also have many opportunities to learn about the environment and ecosystem; and how to pick cockles.

Second trip: Culture & Style

Arts, Aroma and Civilization If you are interested in all those, this trip is a must! Ms. Pornsiri chose this tour to present a highlight of Thailand because you will get to shop at Bangkoks latest malls and head up to Chiang Mai for Lanna Cultural and Traditional activities. Also, get a chance to visit Doi Suthep; seeing The Royal Flora and have a taste of Lannas food. The last stop will be returning to Bangkok for their arts museum and an old palace, Anatta society.

Third trip: At the Cultured Cross Road

Kings Cross is a district which only until recent years has been perceived with strong negativity for its drug-and-alcohol-abusive, underage-teens-enraged environment. Now those connotations are to be melted away by its hot new image as an elegant relaxing and fine dining area. If you happen to drop by at Kings Cross today, its iconic meeting spot fountain, next to the police station, is sure to catch your eye. Not so far off is Opium Den the sister restaurant within the Stir Crazy chain. The restaurants peculiar name can be accommodated by its uniquely intimate and cave-like interiors- indeed very Kings Crossy.

Walking into Opium Den one can really feel the simplicity and elegance of the dimmed lighting, seamlessly meshed with the earthy style- a vibe so stylish that it attracts the posh Kings Cross locals. The evenings crowded waiting line outside the restaurant is now an accustomed sight to all near by.

Opium Dens 6-year history, in and out of famous newspapers and magazines has made it one of the household names for many Aussie celebs around the area. And were certainly not the last people to write about them. The restaurants managers with more than 10 years experience- NaraponYingprasert and Nakris-Seukgerd tell us that their customers- who are mostly teenagers and young businessmen, are quite well-to-do and health concerning. Opium Dens menu hence usually contains salad or steamed vegetables, and the vegetarians will also be very well satisfied here. They also note that the marketing, the interiors, and the catchy name of a restaurant are significant. But more importantly the range of flavours and the quality offered must be up to standard, along with the service. These can easily prove Opium Dens sophisticated excellence.

Apart form the 7 variations of rice for you to choose from which are differ in their ways of cooking (one of which is the dessert Black Sticky rice, which the Aussie locals love to eat with their main meals!- according to Ms Narapon), we will now present a few of their outstanding dishes:

An entre- Prawn Satay has its prawns marinated in a secret spices recipe before they are grilled and served with satay sauce. The fagrant turmeric and pepper are very well balanced with the perfectly cooked prawns.

Prawn Spring Roll- another prawn entree dish, this is special with the fact that a whole prawn is wrapped with chicken mince and another layer of rice paper, another superstar on their bestsellers list.

Garlic Fish is a main dish which is not to be missed. Deboned Barramundi pieces are deep-fried in a batter and served with garlic sauce (yum!) and various steamed vege to balance the richness.

Another main dish is Crying Tiger. Sliced grilled rump steak with their special sauce of Nam Jim Jaew. Dont forget to tell them how youd like your meat done.

Yum Goong is a dish which can quite literally spice up your whole meal. Fresh prawns in are grilled in their shells until fragrant, served with a knock-your-socks-off spicy seafood sauce and some vegetables.

Lastly, their dessert- Roti Banana, just to sooth that numb mouth of yours. Sweet caramelized bananas are wrapped in Roti and served with vanilla ice cream- Heaven on a plate.
