Miniaturization of module is achievable because no wave-guide structure exists inside the receptacle and light path length from plug tip to LD is short.
Fresnel reflection at the connection is minimized because transparent glass body, with its refractive index as precisely consistent as SM fiber core, closely contacts with plug at convex sphere.
