! Meetings are held at the Sun City West Foundation meeting room, 14465 W RH Johnson Blvd (south of Stardust Blvd). Our next meeting is Thursday, November 7 - Social Hour at 5:00, Dinner at 6:00. Prepaid dinner reservations are required – deadline is 9pm Sunday, Nov. 3. ! Remember to bring non-perishable donations and toiletries adult and children’s clothing for charities.

President’s Corner With our Dinner/Dance on April 4th, we completed a very successful year. Our three trips were all filled, we had plenty of snow and lots of sunshine. The Trip Leaders did a good job of keeping everyone happy. My thanks to all the Volunteers who throughout the year made sure that our meetings ran smoothly. I am very fortunate to have Officers with me that are enthusiastic and keep me well informed. I wish all of you a wonderful summer, enjoy, wherever your travels take you. Until we meet again November 7th 2019 for a new season, Ursula SUN TRAC Trip Report Trips are set and we’re looking forward to another great year of skiing. Our pricing will be available in October. ASPEN (January 12-18) is filling up nicely but there is room for more. Lodging is at the Stonebridge in Snowmass. Price will include transportation, lodging, a Welcome Party, portage and a full daily breakfast buffet. Your lift ticket is valid at all four mountains: Snowmass, Buttermilk, Aspen Highlands and Aspen Mountain. Please send your $150 deposits to VSSC, PO Box 5186, Sun City West, AZ 85376-5186 soon so we will not need to cancel the trip. Trip Leaders will be Pete Nysather (623-594-4980) and Frank & Margy Simchak (602-717-3241). More information will be available for you at the November Ski Club meeting.! BEAVER CREEK (February 2 – 8) is our brand new trip! We have found lodging at the Osprey, only steps from the Strawberry Lift at the base of the mountain. No need to shuttle. We plan to fly to Denver and take the coach to the hotel. Price will include transportation, portage and lodging. Though the trip is full at this time, we are accepting deposits to put your name on the waiting list. As of today, we have one couple and one female on the cancellation list. Trip Leaders: Mary Ann Vangelisti (602-799-3855) and Ron Brossart (701-838-1445). PARK CITY/CANYONS (February 23 – 29) We are revisiting a favorite. Saunders McDonald (623-249-0004) and Marilyn Torrence (253-350-2595) will be the Trip Leaders. We will fly to Salt Lake City and shuttle to the Best Western Landmark Inn. Price will include transportation, lodging and a daily hot breakfast. One lift ticket is good for The Canyons and Park City.

April Meeting

President’s Comments Two volunteers are needed to set up and promote the Club for the April 18 Sun City West Newcomers Coffee. Please let Saunders McDonald know if you can assist. New member Beth Gay was introduced and welcomed. Prospective members Kathy McSparran and Richard Koyanagi were introduced. Guests for the evening were Kathleen Perry, Stu & Ginny Bagni, Alberta Walker, Kathleen Fontaine, Kim Mullozzi, Helga & Brian Eichelberger, Tom & Kathy Geary, and former members Stan & Margie Sakowski and Charlie & Jan Crane. Treasurer’s Report Frank Perry reported a working balance of $5,985.87 as of March 31, 2019. Corresponding Secretary Report The new website designed by Douglas Smith Design will be ready for use in the very near future. Dinner Coordinator There were 78 reservations and 77 dinners served. Members were reminded to use plastic forks for dessert so that the catering company can collect all stainless utensils before leaving the premises. Membership Marie Jones reported the membership count is now 147. Sun Trac Vice President David Shenton presented Richard Vangelisti a $100 Visa gift card in appreciation for travel services throughout the ski season. 50/50 Report Ticket sellers were Martin Umberger and David Shenton. Winners of $20 each were Len Fontaine, Myrna Shaw, Jan Nelson, Frank Perry, and Joe Shaw. The next Membership meeting is November 7, 2019. The meeting was adjourned at 6:32 PM. Barb Stevens then introduced The Nani Komohana Tutu (“Pretty Western Grandmas”) dancers who entertained with several numbers prior to an evening of dancing to the Mirror Image Band that brought the 2018-2019 ski season to a close.
