Vanderbilt University Medical Center provides our employees with quality online/on-demand
access to training in various Microsoft products. You will only need to complete this process
ONCE to give you direct access to the content.
To begin your login process, open a web browser and enter: onlinelearning.microsoft.com

In the green box, click “Sign in”. In the pop-up screen, click “Work or school account”.

This year, all Vanderbilt University Medical Center email addresses will become “@vumc.org”
addresses. To ensure this change will not affect your Microsoft online learning access,
pay close attention to Step 3 and Step 6.
If you already have an @vumc.org email address, enter it here.
Otherwise, enter the name portion of your Vanderbilt email up to the “@” symbol,
then complete it with “@vumc.org”.
(Do not click these)
Now enter your VUNetId and Password (that you use to sign into your VUMC systems)
and click “Sign On”.

Click on “here” (in blue). (You have an access code in the next Step.)

This pop-up will help you bypass this process the next time you sign on. Check the box for “Don’t show this again” and select “Yes”.

Enter the code: IWO8454029
Enter the email address from Step 3
Now click “Submit”

Click “Continue”.

Complete the information requested. Click “Save”.

(This can be anything you choose)
“Check” the box next to “I Accept” and click “Continue”.
Step 9
You now have access to Microsoft online/on-demand training. Click “Catalog” in the top green menu bar to explore or type in the Microsoft application you are looking for in the Search Bar.

This is the expanded view when you click on “Catalog”. Based upon your role at VUMC, the course listing will vary. You can also click on “See All Courses” and move to Step 12.
Using the menu dropdown selections on the left, you can narrow your search.

You may choose any course you prefer and continue with this tutorial. As an example, we have selected “Word”. Click “Add” to add this to your courses.

Note: choosing your language preference first will help narrow the selection field further.
With the course added, you can view it now or click “Close” and view it later.

Clicking “Close” in Step 14, you will now see the listing in “My courses”.
Step 15
Once you click to view the course, you will be directed to a pre-launch screen. In the middle of the page, the link to start the program will appear. Click this link to begin. At the bottom of the page, you will also be able to move forward or backwards in the program.

By clicking the link in Step 16, a new browser window will open and launch your training video.
Step 17
At any point, you can click “Online Learning” at the top left of the menu bar to return to the home screen. Once there, you can click on “My courses” and check your progress with any given training program you have started.

The expanded view when you click on “Catalog”. You can also click on “See All Courses” and move to Step 12.
Once you complete a course, it will be registered in “My achievements”.

In “My achievements”, you can review the course again, or even print a completion certificate for your records.
