Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship

• National Society of the Colonial Dames of American in North Carolina will award $3000 and a runner up of $1000 to two North Carolina high school seniors to be used at a college or university.

KFC Scholars Program• High school seniors with financial need

and an entrepreneurial spirit qualify for the KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program. Awards are up to $20,000 for tuition, fees, textbooks, room and board. Seniors must plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree, be a US citizen, 2.75 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Apply online at www.kfcscholars.org starting December 1 until February 8, 2012.

• The Ronald McDonald House Charities US Scholarship Program seeks to invest in students who are exemplary role models in their communities and have the initiative to fulfill their educational goals.

Answer: • The error in this sentence occurs at C.

The participle “switching” cannot function as the main verb of the sentence and should be replaced by the present tense verb phrase “are switching.”
